CSIR-IHBT is hiring 23 project staff for temporary research projects at Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. The posts include Project Associate PAT-I/I, Senior Research Fellow, Research Associate-I, and Project Scientist-I. These posts are purely temporary and will continue up to the project period or completion of the project, whichever comes first. Who Can Apply?

For Project Associate Posts

• Project Associate PAT-I/I: You need the Master's degree, integrated Master's degree, M.Pharmacy, MVSc, or relevant bachelor's degree listed against the post code.
• NET/GATE benefit: Some Project Associate posts pay a higher stipend to candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC, ICAR, ICMR NET, GATE, or equivalent national-level tests.
• Desirable skills: Project-wise experience includes food product development, plant tissue culture, molecular biology, natural product chemistry, data modelling, horticulture field work, or survey/data analysis.

For SRF, RA-I and Project Scientist-I

• Senior Research Fellow: You need M.Sc. in Botany or Plant Physiology with 3 years research and development experience.
• Research Associate-I: You need a Ph.D. in Biological Science, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or Botany.
• Project Scientist-I: You need a doctoral degree in Science or a Master's degree in Engineering or Technology.

Other Conditions

• Result-awaited candidates: You cannot attend the interview if your result is still awaited.
• Multiple post codes: You must submit a separate application form for each position code.
• Original certificates: You must bring original certificates along with self-attested copies.

Age Limit

• Project Associate PAT-I/I and Project Scientist-I: Maximum age is 35 years as on the interview date for the concerned post code.
• Senior Research Fellow and Research Associate-I: Maximum age is 40 years as on the interview date for the concerned post code.
• Age Relaxation: SC, ST, PwBD and women candidates get 5 years relaxation. OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation, as per Government of India instructions.

Salary

• Project Associate PAT-I/I: Rs. 25,000 per month plus HRA, or Rs. 31,000 per month plus HRA for NET/GATE/national-test qualified candidates where the post code allows it.
• Senior Research Fellow: Rs. 42,000 per month plus 9% HRA.
• Research Associate-I: Rs. 58,000 per month plus 9% HRA.
• Project Scientist-I: Rs. 56,000 per month plus 9% HRA.
• HRA is shown as 9%, 10%, or HRA as per the concerned project/post code.

Selection Process

The selection will be handled by the CSIR-IHBT selection committee. The committee may use direct interview or conduct an objective MCQ test followed by interview on the same day.

1. Reporting and Document Check: You must report before 10:00 AM with the prescribed form, photo, self-attested copies, and original certificates.
2. Objective Test, if used: The committee may conduct a multiple-choice test. The notification does not mention the number of questions, marks, or time.
3. Interview: Shortlisted or attending candidates will face the interview at CSIR-IHBT, Palampur.
4. Final Selection: Selection will depend on performance during the selection process, and the number selected may vary from the advertised positions.
