CIBS Consultant Accounts Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (CIBS), a deemed university under the Ministry of Culture, is engaging a Consultant (Accounts) at Choglamsar in Leh, Ladakh. This full-time contractual assignment is intended for retired officers who can support the institute's accounts and procurement work. The engagement is a consultancy arrangement and does not count as re-employment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: Your engagement runs for one year or until further orders, whichever comes first. CIBS may extend it if the institute still needs the service.
• Workplace: You will work at CIBS in Leh, UT of Ladakh. The notice identifies the institute itself as the place of work.
• Working hours: You must attend during normal working days and hours. When an urgent need arises, the institute may also call you on holidays or outside normal hours.
• Confidentiality: Information handled during the assignment must remain confidential. This obligation continues after the contract ends.
• Professional conduct: You cannot represent or advise others in matters that go against the institute's interests. Outside activity must stay within the terms of your contractual assignment.
• Contract termination: CIBS may end the engagement with one month's notice for non-performance or absenteeism.
• Employment status: The consultancy gives you no claim to a regular appointment with CIBS or the Ministry. Benefits are limited to those specifically provided for this engagement.
• Local service preference: CIBS gives preference to retired government employees who served in Central Government offices located in Ladakh and in the UT administration.
• Institute's discretion: CIBS may change the advertised requirement or leave the position unfilled if circumstances call for it.
