Central Bank of India has released a notification for the post of Business Correspondent Supervisor (BCS). This is a contractual post under the Ministry of Finance (Department of Financial Services). If you are a retired bank officer or a graduate looking for a field-level banking role, this is a good opportunity for you.
The BCS role involves managing and supervising Business Correspondents (BCs) in rural and semi-urban areas. You will work directly under the Regional Manager of the bank.

Who Can Apply
There are two types of candidates who can apply for this post:
Option 1 — Retired Bank Employees:
- Must be a retired officer up to Senior Manager rank from any bank
- Need at least 3 years of rural banking experience
- Maximum age: 64 years (contract can continue till age 65)
Option 2 — Young Candidates (Non-Retired):
- Must be a graduate from a recognised university
- Must have basic computer knowledge
- Age: 21 to 45 years (contract can continue till age 60)
- Preferred qualifications: MSc IT, BE (IT), MCA, or MBA
Important eligibility condition: You must be a local resident. Candidates from the same district as the assignment area will be preferred. Candidates from an adjoining district may also be considered. Candidates from other states will not be selected. Local language proficiency is mandatory.
Salary
This is a contractual role. Salary is not a fixed government pay scale — it is paid in three parts:
- Fixed Pay: Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 15,000 per month
- Variable Pay: Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 10,000 per month (based on performance)
- Conveyance Allowance: Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 4,000 per month
- Mobile Allowance: Rs. 500 per month
Total salary range: Rs. 12,000/month (minimum, Category B) to Rs. 29,500/month (maximum, Category A with all components).
You will also get 30 days of paid leave per year.
Selection Process
Selection is based on an interview only. There is no written exam. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview by the Regional Manager's office.
After joining, you must get the IIBF-BC (Indian Institute of Banking and Finance — Business Correspondent) certification within 3 months.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage a network of 20 to 30 Business Correspondents in the assigned area
- Monitor the day-to-day activities of Business Correspondents and ensure they meet their targets
- Conduct regular field visits to BC points and report issues to the Regional Manager
- Train and guide Business Correspondents on banking products and procedures
- Ensure Business Correspondents follow all RBI and bank guidelines
- Collect reports and performance data from BCs and submit them to the bank
- Handle customer complaints related to BC services and resolve them quickly
- Maintain proper records of all BC activities and transactions
- Ensure cash management and safety at BC points
- Coordinate with the bank branch and Regional Manager for all BC-related matters
