The Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS) is filling 6 permanent posts through direct recruitment under Advertisement No. 04/2026. CCRS Recruitment 2026

CCRS is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. Who Can Apply?

Social Worker

  • Qualification route 1: A degree from a recognised university, a diploma in Social Work of at least 1 year, and 1 year of social-work experience in a recognised institution or hospital.
  • Qualification route 2: A postgraduate degree in Sociology from a recognised university.

Upper Division Clerk (UDC)

  • Education: A degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of correspondence work in a government, semi-government, public-sector, autonomous or institutional office.
  • Knowledge: A thorough understanding of office routine, rules and regulations.

Lower Division Clerk (LDC)

  • Education: Class 12 or an equivalent qualification from a recognised board or university.
  • Typing: 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi or Tamil on a computer.

You must hold the required qualification and experience by the relevant cut-off date. CCRS will reject a form that does not include self-attested proof of the claimed education and experience.

Age Limit

  • Social Worker: Up to 30 years as on 1 January 2026.
  • UDC and LDC: 18 to 27 years as on 9 September 2026.
  • Central Government civilian employees: Relaxation up to 5 years may apply to the relevant Group C posts under Central Government instructions, subject to the stated service conditions.
  • PwBD applicants: Relaxation is available under applicable Central Government rules.

Your date of birth must be supported by a Class 10, SSLC or matriculation certificate. CCRS will not accept a transfer certificate, passport or registration certificate as age proof.

Salary

  • Social Worker: Pay Level 6, Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month.
  • UDC: Pay Level 4, Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month.
  • LDC: Pay Level 2, Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month.

These are 7th CPC pay-matrix scales. Other admissible central-government allowances will follow the rules applicable to the post and place of posting.

Application Fee

  • General, OBC and EWS applicants: Rs. 300 for each post.
  • SC, ST and PwBD applicants: No fee.
  • Payment mode: Demand Draft drawn in favour of Central Council for Research in Siddha, payable at Chennai.

Write your name, Advertisement No. and post applied for on the back of the Demand Draft. Cash, cheque, money order and postal order are not accepted, and a paid fee is not refundable.

Selection Process

  1. Application screening: CCRS will check education, experience, age, documents and other conditions before shortlisting.
  2. Written test: Shortlisted applicants will take a written test at CCRS headquarters in Chennai. The notice does not state the number of questions, marks, duration or negative-marking rule.
  3. LDC typing test: LDC applicants must pass a qualifying computer typing test at 35 wpm in English or 30 wpm in Hindi or Tamil.
  4. Interview, where applicable: CCRS may conduct a personal interview for the relevant post.
  5. Final merit: The final list will be prepared in order of written-test merit, subject to the applicable qualifying stages and document checks.

CCRS will conduct the written test and interview, where used, at its Tambaram Sanatorium headquarters in Chennai. The Council will not pay TA or DA for attending.

  1. Download the prescribed form from the official CCRS notification: Annexure I for Social Worker, Annexure II for UDC or Annexure III for LDC.
  2. Complete the form, sign it in running hand and paste a recent passport-size colour photograph in the marked space.
  3. Attach self-attested copies of age proof, educational certificates, experience proof and PwBD proof if applicable. Add the original Rs. 300 Demand Draft unless you are exempt.
  4. Government, PSU, autonomous-body and university employees must apply through proper channel with the required NOC, vigilance clearance and APAR documents.
  5. Write “Application for the post of ______” on the envelope.
  6. Send it by Speed Post only to: The Director General, Central Council for Research in Siddha, Ministry of Ayush, GST Road, Tambaram Sanatorium, Chennai – 600047.
  7. Make sure the complete application reaches CCRS by 9 September 2026. Email applications and forms in a different format will not be considered.

Keep a copy of the completed form, Demand Draft and postal receipt. Do not place original educational or experience certificates in the envelope.

  • Support patients and families through social-work services and institutional coordination as Social Worker
  • Maintain correspondence, files and office records accurately as UDC
  • Apply government office rules and routine procedures to day-to-day clerical work
  • Prepare, type and organise letters, registers and administrative documents
  • Enter and verify information on computer systems while protecting official records
  • Assist CCRS teams with timely movement of files and internal communication
  • Carry out other post-related duties assigned by the controlling officer

Post-specific: Class 12 with computer typing for LDC; degree with 3 years of correspondence work for UDC; degree plus Social Work diploma and experience, or postgraduate Sociology, for Social Worker
