Hindi Translator
- Qualification: You need a Master's degree with at least 50% marks in Hindi, English, or another subject with the required Hindi-English combination.
- Translation Requirement: You also need a recognised diploma/certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and English to Hindi, or 2 years of translation experience in a central/state government office or Government of India undertaking.
- Desirable: Knowledge of department terminology and Hindi and English typing on computer will help.
Age Limit
- Hindi Officer: maximum age is 42 years.
- Hindi Translator: maximum age is 35 years.
- Reference date: age is counted as on the last date for online application, 19 July 2026.
- Age relaxation: SC, ST, OBC non-creamy layer, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and EWS candidates get relaxation as per Government of India rules.
Salary
- Hindi Officer: Pay Level 8, expected pay range Rs. 47,600 to Rs. 1,51,100 per month.
- Hindi Translator: Pay Level 4, expected pay range Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month.

Responsibilities
- Translate official documents, reports, notices and correspondence between Hindi and English
- Prepare replies, Rajbhasha reports and official language compliance records
- Monitor use of Hindi in daily office work across departments
- Organize Hindi workshops, Hindi Divas activities and awareness programmes
- Assist officers with bilingual drafts, press releases and administrative documents
- Maintain Hindi typing, terminology and translation records on computer systems
- Coordinate with official language bodies for policy updates and reporting
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Master's degree in Hindi, English, or another subject with required Hindi-English subject combination; Hindi Translator also needs translation diploma/certificate or 2 years translation experience.
Preferred Qualification
Translation diploma/certificate for Hindi Officer; terminology knowledge and Hindi/English typing knowledge for Hindi Translator.
Required Skills
Hindi-English translation, official language implementation, Rajbhasha reporting, Hindi typing, official correspondence and computer-based document handling.
