The recruitment covers Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor posts in three engineering departments — Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering. BPUT has issued Advertisement No. BPUT/VI/Estt./1147/25/2437 dated 16 April 2026 for regular teaching posts at CUPGS, the in-campus college of the university. If you have a PhD with research publications (Professor / Associate Professor) or a B.E./B.Tech + M.E./M.Tech in a relevant branch (Assistant Professor), you can apply department-wise. Applications must reach BPUT only through Speed Post — hand delivery and courier are not accepted.

Who Can Apply?

For Professor (Pay Level 14)

• Ph.D. in the relevant field.
• First Class (minimum 60% marks) at Bachelor's or Master's level.
• Minimum 10 years of teaching / research / industry experience in UGC & AICTE approved institutions.
• Out of 10 years, at least 3 years as Associate Professor (Level 13A, Entry pay Rs. 1,31,400).
• At least 6 research publications at Associate Professor level in SCI / Scopus / UGC / AICTE journals AND supervision of 2 PhDs; OR 10 research publications.
• Total research score of 120 (UGC Appendix-II Table-2 criteria).

For Associate Professor (Pay Level 13A)

• Ph.D. in the relevant field.
• First Class (minimum 60%) at Bachelor's or Master's level.
• Minimum 8 years of teaching / research / industry experience at Pay Level 10 (entry pay Rs. 57,700).
• Out of 8 years, at least 2 years post-PhD experience.
• At least 6 research publications in SCI / Scopus / UGC / AICTE journals.
• Total research score of 75.

For Assistant Professor (Pay Level 10)

• B.E. / B.Tech / B.S. AND M.E. / M.Tech / M.S. or Integrated M.Tech in the relevant branch.
• First Class (minimum 60%) in any one of the qualifying degrees.

Candidates with grade marks instead of percentages must enclose a conversion certificate from the awarding board / university.

Age Limit

• Professor / Associate Professor: Minimum 21 years; maximum is superannuation age as on the last date of application.
• Assistant Professor: Minimum 21 years; maximum 38 years as on 19 May 2026.
• Age relaxation (Asst. Prof.): 5 years for SC / ST / SEBC / Women / Ex-Servicemen; 10 years for PwD with 40%+ permanent disability.
• SC / ST / SEBC candidates with disability get a cumulative relaxation of 15 years.

Salary

• Professor: Rs. 1,44,200 - Rs. 2,18,200 (Pay Level 14, Odisha Revised Scale of Pay 2019).
• Associate Professor: Rs. 1,31,400 - Rs. 2,17,100 (Pay Level 13A).
• Assistant Professor: Rs. 57,700 - Rs. 1,82,400 (Pay Level 10).
• Plus DA and other allowances as admissible under Government of Odisha rules from time to time.

Selection Process

1. Application scrutiny by BPUT for minimum eligibility and document completeness.
2. Shortlisting of candidates — meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee an interview call.
3. Interview / Selection Committee at BPUT Rourkela. Shortlisted candidates must attend at their own cost — no TA/DA is paid.
4. Document verification on the day of the interview using original certificates and testimonials.
5. Final selection by the University authorities; the decision is final and no correspondence is entertained.

How to Apply

1. Download the application form and Appendix-II Table-2 (UGC Regulations format) from www.bput.ac.in.
2. Fill in the application form in MS Word, take a printout, and sign every page.
3. Attach two recent passport-size photographs — affix one on the form.
4. Pay the application fee via SB Collect on the BPUT website and attach the transaction slip.
5. Enclose self-attested copies of all certificates, mark sheets, experience, publications, caste / disability proofs as per the checklist (Annexure 1-20).
6. If applying for more than one post / department, submit separate applications in separate envelopes.
7. Super-scribe the envelope as: "Application for the post of Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in (Name of Department), CUPGS, BPUT, Rourkela".
8. Send by Speed Post only to: The Registrar, BPUT, Chhend, Rourkela - 769015, Odisha.
9. The application must reach BPUT on or before 19 May 2026. Hand delivery, courier, and other modes are not accepted.

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate engineering courses in your specialization at CUPGS, Rourkela.
• Guide M.Tech and Ph.D. research scholars through their thesis work.
• Publish research papers regularly in SCI, Scopus, UGC, and AICTE-approved journals.
• Lead or contribute to sponsored research projects funded by AICTE, DST, SERB, and industry partners.
• Develop course content, prepare lab manuals, and improve the engineering curriculum at BPUT.
• Serve on academic committees, examination duties, and student admission panels.
• Mentor students for placements, GATE, and higher studies, and run technical clubs.
• Maintain records, submit AICTE / NAAC / NBA accreditation reports, and follow UGC Regulations.
