BITS Pilani Goa Campus Research Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani), K K Birla Goa Campus has released a notification for 1 Research Assistant position under an NFSG Phase VI funded research project titled "Bemused Minorities: Christian-Muslim Engagements in South India" (Project No: N6/25/1095). The project falls under the broad area of Anthropology and Sociology, and the selected candidate will work under Principal Investigator Anu K Antony. This is a great opportunity for social science postgraduates interested in ethnographic research, with the added benefit of being able to apply for a PhD at BITS Pilani Goa Campus.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Post Graduate degree in any Social Science discipline with at least 55% marks or equivalent.
• Fieldwork Experience: Prior fieldwork experience is desirable but not mandatory.
• UGC NET: Candidates who have cleared UGC NET will be given preference during selection.
• Language Requirement: You must be fluent in spoken Malayalam. Fluency in Tamil is a plus but not required.
• Fieldwork Location: You will be assisting with ethnographic fieldwork primarily in Kerala.

Salary

• The selected Research Assistant will receive a stipend of Rs. 28,000 per month (consolidated) for a period of 5 months.
• The overall project duration is 2 years, so there may be scope for extension depending on the project requirements.
• Hostel accommodation will be provided at BITS Pilani Goa Campus, subject to availability and institute rules.
• Additionally, the selected candidate will get a chance to apply for PhD admission at BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through a single stage:

1. Online/Personal Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted via email for an interview, which may be held online or in-person at BITS Pilani, Goa Campus.

There is no written exam for this position. Selection is based on your qualifications, research experience, language skills, and interview performance.
