BHEL PSER Part Time Medical Consultant Recruitment 2026 - 3 Posts

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a Maharatna PSU under the Government of India, has invited applications for 3 Part Time Medical Consultant (General Duty Medical Officer - MBBS) posts at its Power Sector Eastern Region office in Kolkata. Only retired Medical Professionals from BHEL, Central Government Organisations, and other CPSEs are eligible. The engagement is initially for one year and renewable up to a maximum of three years based on performance.

Vacancy Breakdown

• PTMC-01 (3 hours/day, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM): 1 post
• PTMC-02 (3 hours/day, 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM): 1 post
• PTMC-03 (6 hours/day, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with lunch break 1:00-2:00 PM): 1 post

Total daily duty requirement is 6 hours, 5 days a week (Monday to Friday). Either 2 candidates of 3 hours each, or 1 candidate of 6 hours, will be engaged.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have an MBBS degree from a recognised institute/university, recognised by the Medical Council of India.
• Eligibility: Only Medical Professionals retired from BHEL, Central Government Organisations, or other CPSEs can apply.
• Registration: You must be a member of the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council.
• Maximum two post codes can be selected per candidate.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 65 years (as on 01-05-2026).
• Age relaxation: The limit may be relaxed up to 70 years with specific approval from the Competent Authority.

Salary

• Rs. 500 per hour, payable only for the days the PTMC actually performs duty.
• Conveyance: Up to 30 KMs one-way, on actual basis with a ceiling of Rs. 4,500 per month. Beyond 30 KMs, the ceiling is Rs. 6,000 per month.
• Payment is made against submission of invoice as an independent professional.

Selection Process

1. Personal Interview: Eligible candidates will be called for an interview. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
2. Medical Fitness: Selected candidates must produce a medical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner at the time of joining.
