Basti District Programme Office Anganwadi Karyakatri and Sahayika Recruitment 2026 - 250 Posts
The Basti District Programme Office, working under the Bal Vikas Pariyojna (Integrated Child Development Services) scheme in Uttar Pradesh, has released a notification for 250 Anganwadi Karyakatri (Worker) and Anganwadi Sahayika (Helper) posts across the district's urban and rural Anganwadi centres. There is no written test or interview for these posts — your Intermediate percentage decides your merit rank. Only women who live in the same ward or gram sabha as the vacant Anganwadi centre are eligible to apply for that particular post, so check the notice board at your nearest Collectorate, Vikas Bhawan, Tehsil, or Vikas Khand office, or the official website, for ward-wise vacancy details before applying. These are honorarium-based positions under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme rather than salaried government jobs in the traditional sense, and this recruitment drive follows the state government order dated 17 September 2025, covering both urban and rural Child Development Project areas of Basti district.
Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: You need a minimum of Intermediate (12th Pass) or an equivalent qualification. Candidates holding qualifications up to a Postgraduate degree can also apply — but only your Intermediate percentage marks (divided by 10) will be used to calculate your merit score.
- Gender: Only women applicants are eligible for the Anganwadi Karyakatri and Sahayika posts.
- Domicile: You must be a permanent resident of the same ward or gram sabha where the specific Anganwadi Karyakatri or Sahayika post is vacant. Applications from outside the ward will not be considered for that post.
- Priority Order: Widows and divorced or legally separated women from the same ward, particularly those living below the poverty line, get first priority in selection. If no such candidate is available in the same ward, women from these priority categories anywhere in the district are considered next, followed by general merit candidates.
- Income Proof for Priority Category: For priority consideration, your family income should not exceed Rs. 46,080 per year in rural areas or Rs. 56,460 per year in urban areas, supported by a valid income certificate.
- Priority Documents: If you are applying under the widow category, you need a death certificate issued by the Naib Tehsildar along with a copy of your family register. For the divorced/separated category, you need a certificate or order from a competent court. These priority rules follow Uttar Pradesh government orders dated 30 September 2011 and 14 September 2015.
Age Limit
- You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on the cut-off date of 1 July 2026.
- Only the date of birth mentioned in your Class 10 (High School) marksheet or certificate will be accepted as valid proof of age — no other document will be considered.
Selection Process (No Written Exam)
There is no written test, skill test, or interview for these posts. Your selection depends entirely on your Intermediate marks and category priority:
- Merit List: Prepared using your Intermediate (12th) percentage marks, divided by 10 to calculate your final score.
- Priority Categories: Widows, divorced, or separated women from the same ward or gram sabha — especially those below the poverty line — are considered ahead of general candidates.
- Document Verification: Your educational certificates, residence proof, date of birth proof, and category/income certificates (if applicable) will be verified before your final selection is confirmed.
- Wider Search (if needed): If no eligible priority-category candidate is available in the same gram sabha/ward, the same order of priority is applied to eligible candidates from the linked nyaya panchayat (local judicial-cum-administrative unit) before falling back to general merit.
