Who Can Apply?

The qualification changes by post, so you should match your education with the exact post before applying. The range starts from 10th pass roles and goes up to 12th pass, graduate, diploma, engineering, ITI, and marine certificate level posts.

• Graduate and diploma family: Sub-Inspector (Executive), Sub-Inspector (PMT), Radio Operator, Radio Technician, Cipher Operator, and Dealing Assistant need degree or diploma qualifications, and some also need 3 years experience
• Higher secondary family: Sub-Inspector (Master), Store Keeper, Constable families, Firemen, marine constables, and Nursing Assistant mostly need 12th pass with post-specific subject or trade conditions
• Matric and trade family: technical trades such as Fitter Electrician, Diesel Mechanic, Assistant Mechanic, Mechanic Helper, and follower support posts use 10th pass plus trade certificate or experience as the base route
• Driving licence requirement: many executive, transport, fire, and technical posts need a valid two-wheeler, four-wheeler, LMV, or heavy vehicle licence
• Extra conditions: some follower posts mention Hindi and computer knowledge as desirable, while marine posts require the specific shipping competency certificates written in the PDF

Age Limit

The notice applies age rules as on 17 May 2026. Different post families have different upper age limits, so you must check the exact row before submitting the form.

• Most Sub-Inspector and ASI-level posts: not exceeding 30 years
• Constable (Executive), Constable (Bandsmen), and Constable (VHF Operator): 18-25 years for male and 18-30 years for female

Salary

The pay is spread across Pay Matrix Level 1 to Level 6. The lowest starting basic pay is Rs. 18,000 and the highest notified range reaches Rs. 1,12,400.

• Level 6: Rs. 35,400 - Rs. 1,12,400 for Sub-Inspector and ASI family posts
• Level 4: Rs. 25,500 - Rs. 81,100 for several constable-grade and technical support roles
• Level 3: Rs. 21,700 - Rs. 69,100 for trades and constable categories mapped in the notification
• Level 2: Rs. 19,900 - Rs. 63,200 for selected support and driver-related posts
• Level 1: Rs. 18,000 - Rs. 56,900 for follower and sanitation support posts

Physical Standards

Physical Measurement and Endurance Test is required for almost every post except Nursing Assistant. The notice gives different benchmarks for male, female, and ST candidates, so you should check the exact row for your post.

• Executive and radio family height: up to 168 cm for male and 155 cm for female, with ST relaxation to 160 cm and 148 cm
• Many male posts also need chest measurement: minimum 81 cm unexpanded and 85 cm expanded, with ST relaxation to 77 cm and 81 cm
• Executive and radio endurance: 1600 meters in 7 minutes for male and 800 meters in 5 minutes for female, plus long jump and high jump
• Marine posts: race plus 100 meters swimming in 10 minutes

Selection Process

The recruitment uses multiple stages. You first need to clear the physical stage where it applies, and then move to the written and trade stages. Final merit is prepared post-wise after the required stages.

4. Graduate-level pattern: 160 questions, 160 marks, 2 hours 30 minutes, plus additional 40-question, 40-mark, 40-minute subject papers for some posts
5. Higher secondary-level pattern: 200 questions, 200 marks, 3 hours for many constable and store posts, while Nursing Assistant has 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours
6. Matric-level pattern: 160 questions, 160 marks, 2 hours 30 minutes, plus additional 40-question, 40-mark, 40-minute trade papers for driver and mechanic families
7. Trade Test - only for relevant technical and driving posts after PM&ET qualification
8. Document Verification - original certificates, licences, and category documents are checked before final result
