Who Can Apply?

Project Associate-I (PAT-I) - Rs. 25,000-31,000/month, 13 posts:

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or M.Sc. in a relevant subject such as Chemistry, Physics, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Metallurgical Engineering, Polymer Technology, or Materials Science, depending on the project.
• Most Project Associate-I posts do not need prior work experience.

Project Associate-II (PAT-II) - Rs. 28,000-35,000/month, 6 posts:

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Metallurgical) with 2 years of research experience, OR a Master's/Integrated Master's degree in the relevant engineering or science field.

Senior Project Associate (Senior-PAT) - Rs. 42,000/month, 2 posts:

• Qualification: Master's degree or PhD with 2 years of research experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience, depending on the project.

Age Limit

• Maximum age is 35 years for Project Associate-I and Project Associate-II posts, and 40 years for Senior Project Associate posts, calculated as on 9 August 2026 (the last date to apply).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates get 5 years relaxation, and OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation, as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• Project Associate-I: Rs. 25,000 + HRA (general) or Rs. 31,000 + HRA if you have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET (including lectureship), GATE, or an equivalent national-level exam.
• Project Associate-II: Rs. 28,000 + HRA (general) or Rs. 35,000 + HRA for NET/GATE-qualified candidates.
• Senior Project Associate: A flat Rs. 42,000 + HRA per month.
• You will also get House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per government norms, plus 12 days of leave (at the rate of 1 day per month).

Selection Process

Selection is based on a walk-in interview model — there is no written exam. The process has these steps:

1. Document Verification: Bring your original certificates and one set of photocopies on your scheduled interview date. Candidates found ineligible at this stage will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
2. Walk-in Interview: Held the same day, right after document verification, at CSIR-AMPRI, Bhopal.
3. Result: Based on your interview performance, the result is posted on the AMPRI website. A merit-based waitlist panel (valid for 1 year) is also created for each post code.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
