AIIMS Gorakhpur is hiring 17 Non-Academic Junior Residents (Medical) on an ad-hoc basis for 6 months. If you have an MBBS degree from an MCI/NMC-recognised institute and have completed your compulsory rotatory internship, you can attend the walk-in interview on 19 May 2026. Salary starts from Rs. 56,100 per month + NPA (Pay Matrix Level-10). Maximum age is 37 years.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Gorakhpur has released Advertisement No. AIIMS/GKP/RECT/JR/2026-27/27 for 17 Non-Academic Junior Resident (Medical) posts under the Government of India Residency Scheme. The posts are purely ad-hoc for 6 months from the date of joining and may be terminated at any time. 9 of the 17 posts are reserved for PwBD candidates on a horizontal basis. MBBS doctors who have completed their internship can apply through walk-in interview.

• EWS: 4 posts
• PwBD (horizontal): 9 posts (4% of sanctioned seats)

Vacancies are provisional and subject to variation. EWS posts that remain unfilled will not be carried forward as backlog.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: MBBS from a Medical College or Institute recognised by MCI / NMC
• Internship: You must have completed compulsory rotatory internship and produce the internship completion certificate
• Registration: Registration with MCI / NMC or the respective State Medical Council is mandatory before joining
• FMGE: Foreign medical graduates need an FMGE certificate from NBE

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 37 years as on the date of interview
• Age Relaxation:
• SC / ST: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
• PwBD (General): 10 years
• PwBD (OBC): 13 years
• PwBD (SC / ST): 15 years
• No age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for unreserved (UR) vacancies.

Salary

• Pay: Pay Matrix Level-10 with a minimum of Rs. 56,100 per month + NPA (Non-Practicing Allowance) as per the 7th CPC
• The appointee is a whole-time employee and cannot do private practice during the engagement
• No PF, pension, gratuity, or medical attendance benefits are admissible (ad-hoc engagement)

Selection Process

The selection is done through walk-in interview. There is no written exam under normal circumstances.

1. Document Verification: All original documents are verified before the interview begins. Candidates without valid documents will not be considered.
2. Personal Interview: Conducted on 19 May 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Medical College Building, AIIMS Gorakhpur
3. Written Examination (only if applicants are too many): If the number of candidates is large, AIIMS may conduct a written exam in addition to the interview

How to Apply

1. Download the official notification and application form (Annexure A & B) from aiimsgorakhpur.edu.in
2. Pay the application fee through NEFT to the AIIMS Gorakhpur Recruitment Cell account and note the transaction reference number
3. Fill in the application form with full bio-data, qualification, experience, and date of birth
4. Attach self-attested photocopies of certificates and three recent passport-size photographs
5. Bring all original documents along with one set of photocopies on the day of the interview
6. Reach Administrative Block, AIIMS Campus, Kunraghat, Gorakhpur (UP) between 08:00 AM and 09:00 AM on 19 May 2026 for registration. Late candidates will not be considered.

• Provide patient care under the supervision of senior doctors and consultants in assigned departments
• Take detailed medical history, perform physical examinations, and write case sheets
• Assist in OPD, IPD, emergency, and operation theatre duties as scheduled
• Monitor admitted patients and update treatment charts and progress notes
• Work in shifts including night duty, weekends, and holidays as per the duty roster
• Follow AIIMS clinical protocols, infection control rules, and ethical guidelines
• Participate in clinical meetings, ward rounds, and teaching sessions for nursing and paramedical staff
• Support senior residents and faculty in any other duties assigned by the competent authority
