All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhopal (AIIMS Bhopal), an Institute of National Importance, has released Advertisement No. AIIMS Bhopal/SR (Non-Acad.)/2026/07 for Senior Resident posts. The notice covers current vacancies in medical departments, and the interview schedule will be uploaded later on the institute website. This is a good option for postgraduate doctors who want senior residency experience in a central government medical institute.

Tenure is initially one year and can be extended up to a maximum of three years under the residency scheme. If you have already served as a Senior Resident in another government, public sector, or autonomous hospital, that period will be counted while deciding the remaining tenure. For the vacancies listed at serial numbers 23 to 31 in the annexure, the notice says appointment may be for six months, extendable by another six months.

Who Can Apply?

• Main qualification: You need a postgraduate medical degree such as MD, MS, or DNB in the relevant discipline from an NMC-recognised institution or an Institute of National Importance.
• Medical registration: You must have valid registration with the NMC or State Medical Council.
• Result status: Your qualifying degree result and tenure must be completed on or before the date of interview.
• Super-specialty departments: Relevant MD/MS/DNB holders can apply where allowed by the department.
• Trauma and Emergency Medicine: MD/MS/DNB in Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, or Anaesthesiology is accepted.
• Medical Oncology/Haematology: MD/DNB in Medicine, Paediatrics, Radiotherapy, or Pathology is accepted, and DM/DNB Medical Oncology or Haematology holders can also apply.
• Current government employees: If you are working in a government, semi-government, autonomous institution, or PSU, you need a No Objection Certificate from your employer.
• Service limit: You cannot be considered if you have already completed 3 years of Senior Residency.

Age Limit

• Maximum age is 45 years as on the date of interview.
• OBC relaxation: Up to 3 years for OBC candidates in the Central List.
• SC/ST relaxation: Up to 5 years.
• PwBD relaxation: 10 years for General, 13 years for OBC, and 15 years for SC/ST candidates.

Salary

• Pay is Rs. 67,700 per month at Level 11, Cell 1 of the 7th CPC pay matrix.
• The Pay Level 11 range is Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month.
• You will also get usual allowances including NPA as allowed under rules.

Application Fee

• General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 1,500
• SC / ST / PwBD: No fee
• Payment mode: Demand Draft in favour of Executive Director, AIIMS Bhopal.
• Refund rule: The fee will not be refunded once paid.
• If you apply for more than one department, you need a separate fee for each application.

Selection Process

The selection details will be shared by AIIMS Bhopal with the department-wise schedule.

1. Written Test / Interview: The notification says the written test or interview will be conducted at AIIMS Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Exact dates will be uploaded later.
2. Document Verification: You must bring original documents and one set of self-attested copies at the time of recruitment or interview, including degree certificates, registration certificate, ID proof, photos, category certificate, NOC, and experience proof where applicable.
3. Medical Examination: Selected doctors will undergo a medical fitness test. If found medically unfit, the offer can be withdrawn.

Tie rule: If more than one person gets the same marks in the interview, AIIMS Bhopal will use date of birth to decide ranking, with the older person placed higher. The notice also says no TA/DA will be paid for attending the selection process, so you should plan travel to Bhopal accordingly.

3. Keep a copy of the submitted online form for the interview stage.

5. Bring the printout, fee draft, original documents, and self-attested copies when you report for the test or interview.
6. If the interview schedule is published for a department and you missed online submission by 30 June 2026, the notice allows willing doctors to report on the interview day with the offline form and all required certificates.
7. Check aiimsbhopal.edu.in regularly because the interview schedule, corrigendum, and updates will be published there.
