Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) Emergency Medicine Physician Recruitment 2026

ACTREC is a grant-in-aid institute of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, and operates as part of the Tata Memorial Centre, one of India's leading cancer treatment and research networks. Under advertisement number ACTREC/ADVT.150/2026, the Department of Medical Administration has invited applications for a walk-in interview to fill the post of Emergency Medicine Physician on an ad-hoc basis. In this role, you will lead emergency care for critically ill oncology patients, coordinate with the treating oncology unit, and also guide and train Casualty Medical Officers and staff to run the Emergency Department efficiently. This is a senior clinical role suited to specialists who already have hands-on ED management experience.

Because the Emergency Department serves patients from across the Tata Memorial Centre network, you will regularly work alongside oncology specialists, surgeons and nursing staff, making this a role with real cross-department responsibility rather than routine casualty duty.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: MD or DNB in Emergency Medicine with valid registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC).
• Experience: You need a minimum of 1 year of experience managing the emergency department of a multi-specialty or tertiary care hospital.
• Leadership: You will be expected to guide and mentor Casualty Medical Officers and junior ED staff, so prior supervisory exposure is an advantage.

Age Limit

• You should be up to 45 years old, calculated as on the advertisement date (28 July 2026).

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 1,32,000 to Rs. 1,40,000 per month, based on your work experience.
• The appointment is initially for one year, extendable depending on the Centre's requirements.
• This is a senior clinical position within a busy, well-established Emergency Department serving the entire Tata Memorial Centre network.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

ACTREC will select candidates directly through an interview, with no written test involved:

1. Document Verification: When you arrive, the recruitment cell will check your bio-data, a recent passport size photograph, and original plus photocopies of your Aadhar card, PAN card, educational qualification certificates and work experience certificates.
2. Interview: A selection panel will assess your qualification, ED management experience, leadership ability and suitability for the role.

Both walk-in and Zoom candidates go through the same document check and interview process — only the mode of appearing differs.

• Evaluate and stabilise critically ill patients through emergency management, including intubation, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Manage patients under observation in the Emergency Department and coordinate with the treating oncology unit on further care
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, both on paper and in the EMR system
• Communicate clearly with patients and their families about the patient's condition and prognosis
• Handle medico-legal cases as per hospital protocol
• Track each patient's journey through the Emergency Department, from arrival until admission or discharge
• Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators for the Emergency Department as per NABH guidelines
• Guide, train and support the Casualty Medical Officer and ED staff to run the department efficiently
