Assam Climate Change Management Society (ACCMS) is engaging a Subject Matter Expert as an individual consultant for the Children’s Climate Risk Assessment (CCRA) in Assam. The society works under the state’s Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department, with technical assistance for this assignment from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

The assignment focuses on climate risks affecting children and how the findings can inform planning across government sectors. You will work with the Technical Consultant to adapt the global CCRA framework to Assam’s climate, geography and child vulnerability context.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract: This is a short-term individual consultancy lasting four months. The stated duty station is ACCMS, Assam, and you report to its Technical Consultant.
• Assessment outputs: The assignment includes an inception report and workplan, followed by draft and final versions of the Assam CCRA report.
• Consultation outputs: Stakeholder discussions and validation workshops must be reflected in reports that support the assessment.
• Sector outputs: Fact sheets and policy or advocacy briefs will address child-sensitive climate resilience across public health engineering, women and child development, health, water resources, and housing and urban affairs.
• Training outputs: The assignment includes capacity-building materials and technical guidance notes for government counterparts, followed by a final report bringing together findings and recommendations.
• Application accuracy: Incorrect information or failure to meet the advertised conditions can lead to rejection or cancellation of the appointment.
