The Anti-Corruption Bureau, Gujarat (ACB Gujarat) has released a notification to fill 1 Technical Advisor post on a contract basis for its Preventive Action Unit at Ahmedabad. Corruption and bribery cases often involve properties and assets that do not match a person's known sources of income, and the Bureau needs a technical expert to confirm whether such property valuations and construction costs are genuine. This role was created exactly for that purpose — to help the Bureau accurately assess property valuations and construction quality in disproportionate assets cases, a key part of the state's anti-corruption drive. Retired government engineers can also apply for this post, subject to a maximum appointment age of 62 years, and working Civil Engineers or Architects with strong field experience in construction valuation are especially encouraged to apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture from a recognized university.
• Experience: You must have at least 10 years of experience working as a Civil Engineer or Architect.
• Preferred Experience: Class-1 and Class-2 engineers with field experience in structural design, construction quality, construction materials and cost, quality control, and asset valuation (SOR-based work) get top priority in selection.
• Role: As Technical Advisor, you will check whether construction cost estimates shown in property records are accurate, assess construction quality, and guide investigating officers on civil-engineering evidence in disproportionate assets cases.
• Duty Location: Your place of posting will be Ahmedabad, but the Bureau can assign you work at any office under its jurisdiction across Gujarat.
• Eligibility for Retired Officers: Retired government officers can also apply, but appointment cannot be given after 62 years of age.
• Note: Once appointed, you cannot continue any private consulting practice or take up part-time work elsewhere.

Age Limit

• Appointment cannot be given after 62 years of age — this mainly applies to retired government officers who apply for this post.
• This is subject to the conditions in the General Administration Department resolutions dated 7 July 2016 and 4 November 2019.

Salary

• You will get a fixed monthly honorarium of Rs. 60,000 during the 11-month contract period.
• No DA, HRA, medical reimbursement, pension, bonus, LTC or other government employee benefits are payable on this fixed honorarium, and it will not increase during the contract.
• If official duty takes you more than 8 km outside Ahmedabad, you will get a Class-2 officer daily allowance for stays of 6-12 hours, plus second-class ST bus or railway fare.
• The contract runs for 11 months. Either you or the Bureau can end it early with one month's notice, or one month's honorarium in lieu of notice. The Bureau can also end your contract at any time, without notice, for unsatisfactory performance or indiscipline.
• You get 11 casual leaves per year; extra leave beyond this means a salary deduction for those days. Female candidates get maternity leave as per the rules.
• Professional tax will be deducted from your honorarium as per the standard rules, and this contract does not give you any right to be absorbed into the regular government cadre later.
• You must submit a physical fitness certificate before joining, and the Bureau may ask you to take a personal accident insurance policy at your own cost.

Selection Process

ACB Gujarat will select the Technical Advisor in the following stages:

1. Document Screening: Your application and supporting certificates (educational, experience, address proof) will be checked.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview before a committee at Ahmedabad, on a date and time to be notified. No travel allowance is paid for attending the interview.

There is no written exam for this post.
