Tezpur University Assistant Professor (Contractual) Recruitment 2026 - Department of Civil Engineering

Tezpur University, a Central University established by an Act of Parliament and located in Napaam, Tezpur, Assam, has released Advertisement No. 22/2026 for one Assistant Professor position on a contractual basis in the Department of Civil Engineering. The post is for a period of eleven (11) months, or until the regular vacancy is filled, whichever is earlier, with a provision for further extension based on requirement and satisfactory performance. Candidates with a PhD are preferred, and you should be able to teach the Engineering Graphics course. This is a good short-term opportunity for engineering postgraduates looking to gain teaching experience at a central university.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech / B.S. and M.E. / M.Tech / M.S. (or Integrated M.Tech) in a relevant branch of Civil Engineering, with First Class or equivalent in at least one of the degrees.
• Preferred: A PhD in the relevant branch/specialization is desirable.
• Additional Requirement: You should be able to teach the Engineering Graphics course.
• Minimum qualification, screening, and other requirements will follow the relevant UGC/AICTE/NCTE regulations.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a fixed salary of Rs. 80,000 per month.
• No other allowances are admissible for this position.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Tezpur University selects candidates only on the basis of an interview:

1. Shortlisting: If a large number of candidates apply, you will be shortlisted for the interview based on your academic qualifications and experience as per Annexure-II. Your academic score (per UGC Regulations 2018, Appendix II Table 3A) is used only for shortlisting.
2. Interview: Final selection is based entirely on your performance in the personal interview. You will appear before the Selection Committee in person; the date will be notified separately.
