SGPGIMS Faculty Recruitment 2025 — 220 Posts

SGPGIMS Lucknow, one of India's top postgraduate medical institutions under the Government of Uttar Pradesh, is hiring faculty through Advertisement No. I/20/ER/ACAD/2025-2026. This is a large-scale recruitment covering departments like Cardiology, Neurology, Nephrology, Radiodiagnosis, Emergency Medicine, Microbiology, and many more. Both medical and non-medical faculty positions are available, including IT, Biostatistics, and Telemedicine departments.

Vacancies are spread across 45+ departments including Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Nephrology, Radiodiagnosis, Neurosurgery, Medical Oncology, Pathology, Urology, Pediatric specialties, and more. Category-wise reservations apply for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and UR candidates as per UP Government rules.

Who Can Apply?

For Medical Faculty (Most Departments)

• Basic requirement: Medical qualification in the first/second schedule or Part II of the third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956
• Postgraduate qualification: MD/MS/DM/MCh/DNB/DrNB recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC)
• Department-specific specialization matching the concerned department (e.g., DM Cardiology for Cardiology department)

For Non-Medical Faculty

• Biostatistics: M.Sc in Statistics/Biostatistics + PhD with 3 years post-PhD experience
• IT (Telemedicine): B.E./B.Tech + M.Tech in Computer Science/IT + Ph.D. with 3 years experience
• Stem Cell Research: Ph.D. in Life Sciences/Biotechnology with 3 years post-PhD experience

Experience Requirements

• Assistant Professor: 3 years teaching and research experience after MD/MS/DNB
• Associate Professor: 6 years teaching and research experience after MD/MS/DNB
• Additional Professor: 9 years teaching and research experience after MD/MS/DNB
• Professor: 13 years teaching and research experience after MD/MS/DNB

Research Publications Required

• Professor: At least 4 research publications (including 2 after appointment as Additional/Associate Professor) + BCBR course
• Additional Professor: At least 2 research publications after appointment as Associate Professor + BCBR course
• Associate Professor: At least 2 research publications after appointment as Assistant Professor + BCBR course

Indian citizens can apply. Non-permanent residents of UP applying for reserved category seats will be treated as Unreserved category candidates.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 50 years as on 10th October 2025
• Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for unreserved seats — no age bar as prescribed by NMC
• Government servants and candidates from SC/ST/OBC/other backward classes get age relaxation as per UP Government rules
• Age limit may be relaxed for exceptionally qualified candidates at the discretion of the selection committee

Salary

Pay is as per the 7th Pay Commission:

• Assistant Professor (Level 12): Rs. 1,01,500 to Rs. 1,67,400 per month
• Associate Professor (Level 13A-1): Rs. 1,38,300 to Rs. 2,09,200 per month
• Additional Professor (Level 13A-2): Rs. 1,48,200 to Rs. 2,11,400 per month
• Professor (Level 14A): Rs. 1,68,900 to Rs. 2,20,400 per month

In addition, non-practicing allowance (for clinically qualified candidates) and other allowances are paid as per institute rules. New Pension Scheme (NPS) is applicable.

Selection Process

1. Screening Test — Conducted in departments where the number of applicants is too large for direct interview. This step shortlists candidates for the interview round.
2. Personal Interview — Only eligible candidates will be called. Candidates will be notified about the interview date via email.
3. Document Verification — Original documents will be verified at the time of interview.
4. Medical Fitness — The appointment is subject to medical fitness certification by the SGPGIMS Medical Board.

Note: Skype/digital interviews may be permitted on request. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

• Handle teaching duties for postgraduate (MD/MS/DM/MCh) and undergraduate students in the assigned department
• Manage patient care services including OPD, ward, and emergency duties as assigned by the Head of Department
• Conduct original research and publish findings in indexed medical journals (Medline, PubMed, Scopus)
• Prepare and guide postgraduate dissertations and PhD theses in the concerned specialty
• Assist in organizing academic activities like case presentations, journal clubs, CMEs, and conferences
• Monitor and maintain clinical standards, protocols, and quality benchmarks in the department
• Work on institutional research projects (intramural and extramural) and apply for research grants
• Follow all administrative responsibilities assigned by the institute including committee work and departmental duties
