SCTIMST Project Technical Support II Recruitment 2026: Overview
Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Thiruvananthapuram, is hiring a Project Technical Support II for its Biomedical Technology (BMT) Wing at Poojappura. SCTIMST is an Institution of National Importance under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and this is a project-based contract job, not a regular institute post.
The post sits inside a DHR-funded research project (project code P.8284) that is building a magnetic single-atom nanozyme on a micro-PMMA platform. The aim is a quick test that isolates and detects preeclampsia biomarkers, so that pregnancy complications can be picked up early. If you studied Chemistry, Biochemistry or Nanoscience and enjoy lab work with nanomaterials, this is a hands-on role where your work feeds straight into a diagnostic tool.
Selection happens through a walk-in interview at the BMT Wing, so there is no online form. You can qualify either with a postgraduate degree or with a graduate degree plus relevant work experience — check the qualification field for the exact marks and experience rules.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Tenure: The engagement runs initially up to 9 August 2027 and is likely to be extended up to 9 August 2029, in line with the project.
- Reservation: The single existing vacancy is unreserved (UR).
- Screening test: If many candidates turn up, a qualifying written test may be held first. Only those who clear it reach the interview, and its marks do not count towards the final ranking.
- Experience rule: Only experience gained after you earned the essential qualification counts.
- Working candidates: If you are already employed, bring a No Objection Certificate from your current employer to the interview.
- No travel allowance: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

Walk in to the Biomedical Technology Wing, Satelmond Palace, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 012 on the interview day. Reporting time is 9:30 AM and the interview starts at 10:30 AM — anyone who reports after 9:30 AM will not be considered.
