Sambalpur University is hiring 5 Guest Faculty (Assistant Professor) posts in Hindi at its P.G. Department of Hindi, Jyoti Vihar, Burla. If you have a Master's degree in Hindi with NET or Ph.D. qualification, you can attend the Walk-in Interview on 29 May 2026. Selected candidates with Ph.D. will earn up to Rs. 60,000 per month (Rs. 1,000 per class), while those without Ph.D. will earn up to Rs. 45,000 per month (Rs. 750 per class). Sambalpur University has released advertisement number 1144/HINDI dated 18 May 2026 for engagement of 5 Guest Faculty (Assistant Professor) in the P.G. Department of Hindi. The engagement is permitted under Higher Education Order No. 4477/HE and No. 4478/HE dated 01.02.2024. There is no written exam - selection is made through Career Assessment, Research Degree, Demo Class, Publications, and Viva-Voce. Preference will be given to candidates with NET qualification.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Educational qualifications must be as per UGC Regulations, 2018 for Assistant Professor (Hindi).
• Preferred Qualification: Preference will be given to candidates with NET or Ph.D. in Hindi.
• Alternative: If NET/Ph.D. qualified candidates are not available, applicants with a good academic record at the Post-Graduate level may also be considered.

Salary (Honorarium)

• Candidates with Ph.D.: Rs. 1,000 per class, subject to a maximum of Rs. 60,000 per month
• Candidates without Ph.D.: Rs. 750 per class, subject to a maximum of Rs. 45,000 per month
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview

Tenure of Engagement

• The engagement is purely temporary in nature
• Valid from 1 July 2026 to 31 May 2027 or till the post is filled through regular appointment, whichever is earlier

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection will be made based on the following components as per University norms:

1. Career Assessment: Your academic track record from 10th to highest qualification will be evaluated
2. Research Degree: Marks for M.Phil and Ph.D. qualifications
3. Demo Class: You will need to deliver a demo lecture in front of the selection committee
4. Publications: Marks for research papers published in national and international journals
5. Viva-Voce: Personal interview by the expert panel

• Teach Hindi language and literature courses as per the approved P.G. syllabus
• Prepare lesson plans, study materials, and assignments for postgraduate students
• Evaluate student assignments, internal exams, and semester papers
• Guide students on research projects and dissertations
• Conduct viva-voce and tutorial sessions in the Hindi department
• Participate in department meetings and academic activities as required
• Maintain attendance and academic records of students
