Rajasthan High Court Legal Researcher Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Rajasthan High Court has released an abridged advertisement (RHC/Exam Cell/LR/2026/2116) inviting online applications for the contractual engagement of a Legal Researcher, to be attached with Hon'ble Mr. Justice Mahendar Kumar Goyal. This is a one-year contractual assignment under the Scheme for Engaging Legal Researcher in Rajasthan High Court. Your term can be extended for up to 4 years, or till the concerned Judge's retirement, whichever comes earlier, based on your performance. Fresh law graduates can apply — you don't need prior work experience for this role, which gives you direct exposure to judicial work at a High Court.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You must be a fresh law graduate (LLB) or postgraduate in law (LLM) from a University/College/Institution established by law in India.
  • Computer Knowledge: You must have basic knowledge of computer operation.
  • Nationality: You must be a citizen of India.
  • You must not be a practicing advocate or be engaged elsewhere on an honorarium/payment basis, and you should not have any pending or convicted criminal case.

Age Limit

  • You must not be more than 33 years old as on 1 January 2026.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get a fixed honorarium of Rs. 50,000 per month, without any dearness allowance or other perquisites.
  • Proportionate deductions apply for unauthorised absence or leave taken beyond the permitted limit.

Application Fee

  • All Candidates: Rs. 100 examination fee.
  • Payment mode: Online (net banking, debit card, or credit card). You can also apply through e-Mitra kiosks by paying the applicable service charge.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

  1. Shortlisting: Your application is reviewed based on your academic record and extra-curricular achievements.
  2. Interview: Hon'ble Mr. Justice Mahendar Kumar Goyal interviews shortlisted candidates to assess their suitability. You must bring all original documents to the interview.

  2. Fill in the online application form with your personal and educational details.
  3. Upload your scanned photo (10-25 KB) and signature (10-25 KB).
  4. Pay the Rs. 100 application fee online.

  • Search out relevant case law, articles, and legal papers for the Judge
  • Take down notes of arguments during court proceedings
  • Identify key facts, legal issues, and questions that may arise during hearings
  • Maintain records of judgments and the points of law decided in each case
  • Handle administrative correspondence and judicial file records assigned by the Judge
  • Assist the Judge in preparing speeches, academic papers, and other administrative work
