National Institute of Technology Mizoram (NIT Mizoram) has released a notification (Advt. No. NITMZ/RP-39/2025/1069) for 1 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) post in its Department of Computer Science & Engineering. The position is attached to an ANRF-ARG sanctioned R&D project titled "Socially-Interactive Vacuum Cleaning Robot for On-Human Demand and Human-Instructed Cleaning", and is initially for six months, extendable based on performance, and co-terminus with the project. This role suits candidates with a strong background in Control Systems, Robotics, Instrumentation, Deep Learning, Computer Vision or AI in Robotics who want research experience before pursuing a PhD.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Master's degree (M.Tech/M.E/M.Sc.) in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science or a relevant field.
• Marks Required: You need at least 60% marks or 6.5 CPI/CGPA in both your Master's and Bachelor's (B.Tech/B.E/B.Sc.) degree.
• Desirable: A good background in Mathematics and programming in C/C++/Python.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit is 28 years.
• Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 37,000 per month plus HRA as applicable, if you have qualified a national-level eligibility test such as CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship/Assistant Professorship), GATE, or similar exams conducted by DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER and other central government agencies.
• If no suitable JRF candidate is found, the position may instead be filled by a B.Tech student as a Research Intern with a stipend of Rs. 10,000 per month.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on merit and the needs of the project. Meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview call, and the Institute can decide not to call anyone for interview or cancel the advertisement.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are informed by email and must appear for an interview (online or in person at NIT Mizoram) with an updated CV and original certificates plus attested photocopies of mark sheets.

If you are already employed, you will need to produce a relieving certificate from your employer at the time of joining. Note that TA/DA is not admissible for joining the position, and your performance will be reviewed quarterly/half-yearly — the appointment can be terminated without fellowship if performance is unsatisfactory.
