Mizoram University, through the DRDO Industry Academia Centre of Excellence (DIA-CoE) in its Department of Computer Engineering at Aizawl, has advertised 2 posts — 1 JRF and 1 PA — to work on a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India sponsored research project. The project runs for 2 years, and both posts are purely temporary and contractual, co-terminus with the project. The recruitment is led by Dr. V. D. Ambeth Kumar, Associate Professor and Principal Investigator, Department of Computer Engineering. Applications must be sent by email — there is no online portal or written exam. Who Can Apply?

For Junior Research Fellow (JRF - Rs. 37,000/month):

• You need an M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering / Computer Engineering / Information Technology / Artificial Intelligence / Data Science / Cyber Security or an equivalent degree with First Class.
• Preference is given to candidates with a valid GATE/NET qualification and experience in AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Digital Image Processing, Cyber Security, Python programming and research publications.

For Project Associate (PA - Rs. 27,500/month):

• You need a B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering / Computer Engineering / Information Technology / Electronics & Communication Engineering or an equivalent degree with First Class.
• Preference is given to candidates skilled in Python/C++ programming, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Software Development, Web/Mobile App Development and Computer Vision.

Only Indian nationals can apply for these posts.

Salary

• JRF: Monthly fellowship of Rs. 37,000 plus 9% HRA, as per DRDO norms.
• PA: Monthly fellowship of Rs. 27,500 plus 9% HRA (for the first year only), as per DRDO norms.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

1. Application Screening: Your CV and documents will be reviewed by the Principal Investigator.
2. Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be called. The date and mode of interview will be shared by email.
3. Document Verification: You must bring your original certificates at the time of interview or joining.

Mere fulfillment of the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee selection — the decision of the Selection Committee is final. Once selected, your performance will be reviewed every month by the Principal Investigator, based on your progress reports and assigned responsibilities. If your performance is unsatisfactory, the appointment can be terminated immediately without prior notice. You will also need to keep all project data, documents, software and research outcomes strictly confidential, and cannot publish any project-related information without prior written approval. The Principal Investigator also reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process, modify the eligibility criteria, or leave any advertised position unfilled without giving a reason.
