MCD GLMH Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is hiring Senior Residents for Mrs. Girdhari Lal Maternity Hospital at Ajmeri Gate, New Delhi. The hospital will engage doctors on a contractual basis against vacant Specialist posts, with each appointment linked to the relevant specialty. This distinction matters if you are looking for a regular appointment: the engagement does not give you a claim to one.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Anesthesia: Senior Resident engagement in the hospital's Anesthesia specialty, against vacant Specialist posts.
  • Pediatrics: Senior Resident engagement in the Pediatrics specialty at the same hospital, also against a vacant Specialist post.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Tenure: Your initial engagement lasts for one year or until the regular posts are filled, whichever happens earlier. The contract does not assure service for the full year.
  • Private practice: You cannot carry out private practice during this engagement.
  • Transfers: The hospital does not permit inter-hospital or inter-institutional transfers under these appointments.
  • Travel costs: MCD will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending the interview.
  • Service terms: Government of India and MCD service conditions apply as prescribed from time to time. The notice also allows termination without stating a reason, under the applicable terms.
  • Additional assignments: The appointing authority may assign duties as needed; such assignments do not bring an extra allowance.
  • Application decisions: Incomplete applications will not be considered. The competent authority retains the right to accept or reject an application.

Report to the Medical Superintendent's office, Mrs. Girdhari Lal Maternity Hospital, Ajmeri Gate, New Delhi 110002. The interview venue is the Medical Superintendent's chamber; registration runs from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon, while the stated interview session runs from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM.

Your demand draft must be drawn in favour of Commissioner, MCD. If you claim OBC reservation, the hospital accepts the certificate only when it is issued by the competent Government of India authority.

MBBS from an MCI/NMC-recognized university or institution plus PG Degree/DNB/Diploma or equivalent in the concerned specialty from a recognized university or institution, registered with the Medical Council. Only doctors with postgraduate qualifications will be considered against Specialist vacancies.
