IIT Roorkee Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) is recruiting project staff for the AMRUT Centre of Urban Planning for Capacity Building in its Department of Architecture and Planning. The centre is backed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, AMRUT Division, and the notice combines programme management with applied urban-logistics research.

This is a project-based recruitment, not a regular institute appointment. One stream focuses on coordinating the centre's research, projects and capacity-building work; the other supports a decision-support system for optimising last-mile logistics. Post-wise Duties

Program Coordinator

You will oversee centre activities within the assigned domain, monitor project progress and keep work aligned with ministry reporting needs. The role also involves staff appointment processes, institutional partnerships, capacity-building courses, faculty coordination, funding support and the centre's core events.

You will prepare project and progress reports, support publications and build working systems that keep the centre's activities organised. This role needs someone who can move comfortably between academic teams, government reporting and external partner coordination.

Project Associate, Research Associate or Project Fellow

You will collect the required data, develop or apply delivery-optimisation algorithms, and turn the results into usable graphical interfaces and dashboards. The assignment also includes preparing reports and presentations for the last-mile logistics study.

The technical stream values backgrounds connected to transportation, civil engineering, industrial engineering, computer science, operations research or data science. Python programming is particularly relevant because the project expects algorithm development and interface work.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The Program Coordinator engagement is initially for one year, while the logistics research roles are initially for three months.
• Equal-merit preference: The notice gives preference to SC and ST candidates when qualifications and experience are equal.
• Travel support: No TA or DA is payable for attending the walk-in interview.
