Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of engagement: tenure, contract or fixed-term appointment with IIM Mumbai. The institute may also hire a suitable candidate on a consolidated monthly basis, or for a lower post, if it thinks fit.
• Deputation route: officers holding analogous posts on a regular basis may apply on deputation. Absorption later depends on the needs of the post, your suitability, consent of both organisations and Government of India rules — and it confers no vested right on the deputationist.
• Accommodation: institute or leased accommodation is offered to selected candidates, with electricity and water charges paid as actuals. If you take that accommodation, House Rent Allowance is not payable.
• Medical and children's education: employees and their dependents get medical facilities as per institute rules, and Children Education Allowance is admissible for up to two children as per Central Government norms.
• Relaxation: prescribed qualifications cannot be relaxed. Experience may be relaxed only for exceptionally outstanding candidates with proven administrative work, as per institute requirements.
• Departmental candidates: people already working at IIM Mumbai are treated as departmental candidates.
• One post only: a candidate may apply for one post only, and must meet every condition of the advertisement as on the closing date.
