Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) Consultant Recruitment 2026 - Writing and Communication Studio

IIM Indore, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, has released Recruitment Notification No. 04/2026 for a Consultant at its Writing and Communication Studio (WCS). Established in 1996, IIM Indore is one of only two IIMs in India to hold the Triple Crown accreditation (EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA) and is consistently ranked among the top institutes by NIRF, QS and the FT-100 rankings. The WCS was set up under the leadership of Director Prof. Himanshu Rai to support the rhetorical and communication needs of IIM Indore's PGP, EPGP, IPM and Doctoral Programme (DPM) community. Indian institutions have only recently started building dedicated writing and communication studios of this kind, and IIM Indore is proud to be one of the pioneers of this initiative in the country. This role does not require prior teaching experience — it is well suited for candidates with strong writing, editing and communication skills who want to work closely with faculty and students on research-based writing.

Who Can Apply?

The WCS Consultant works on academic writing support, faculty mentoring, and communication resource-building for the IIM Indore community. Your day-to-day work will include editing research summaries and explanatory articles, running one-to-one writing consultations with faculty and students, and preparing handouts on rhetoric and communication for the wider Institute. You will also help translate academic research into simplified, public-facing language and support the WCS's digital presence by documenting its events and resources. Along with the qualification below, IIM Indore looks for someone who can independently manage writing consultations and content creation.

• Qualification: Postgraduate degree in any discipline of Management, Social Sciences, Humanities or Sciences.
• Preferred: Diverse academic and writing experience, certified expertise in communication, strong English-language proficiency, and good research comprehension ability.
• Inclination: You should be interested in working closely with faculty research and academic writing meant for public-facing scholarship.

Selection Process

The selection will be based on:

1. Written Test and/or Interview: Shortlisted candidates may be asked to take a written test, an interview, or both.
2. Interview: The date, time and venue will be shared with shortlisted candidates by email.

Meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview call — IIM Indore may apply additional shortlisting criteria if there are many applications, and reserves the right not to select anyone without assigning any reason.

Nature of Appointment

• This is a fixed-term IIMI contract for one year, extendable one year at a time for a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory performance.
• Your performance will be reviewed after 3 months of joining — you can continue only if this review is satisfactory.
• Selected candidates are expected to join immediately.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test, interview or selection process.
• Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification, and any dispute will fall under the jurisdiction of courts in Indore.
• The Institute reserves the right to change its shortlisting criteria or cancel this position at any time, without assigning any reason.
• If you are not found suitable for this role, you may be considered for a lower position or pay scale instead.
