ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil Science (ICAR-IISS) is holding walk-in recruitment in Bhopal for Young Professional-I, Research Associate, Young Professional-II and Senior Research Fellow assignments. • Young Professional-II: agriculture and environmental-science work linked to conservation agriculture, soil nutrient management, resource productivity and climate resilience in Maharashtra cropping systems.

Post-wise Duties

Young Professional-I

In this role, you will support electrical maintenance across institute buildings and work with systems such as transformers and transmission equipment. Practical maintenance experience will help you deal with routine faults and upkeep safely.

Research Associate

You will contribute to GIS-based soil mapping and environmental analysis for the coordinated research project. The role suits someone who can connect spatial datasets with soil and plant research findings.

Young Professional-II

You will work with soil, water and plant analysis, organise research data and support the conservation-agriculture study. Computer and data-analysis ability will be useful when turning field and laboratory observations into project records.

Senior Research Fellow

You will handle soil and plant sample analysis and support laboratory measurements using atomic absorption spectrophotometry or ICP-OES. Careful sample tracking and instrument handling are central to this assignment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: Engagement begins for six months or one year, or until the relevant project ends; any extension depends on satisfactory work.
• Temporary status: The positions do not create a right to regular appointment or absorption in ICAR-IISS, ICAR headquarters or another related institute.
• Early closure: The institute may end an engagement before project completion if the work is no longer needed or performance is not satisfactory.
• Travel support: No TA or DA will be paid for attending the test or interview.
• Screening: The Director may set shortlisting criteria and may arrange a written test when needed.
• Conduct: Canvassing in any form will cancel the candidature, and the Director's decision is final.

Application Submission Notes

Attend the walk-in for your chosen post at ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil Science, Nabibagh, Berasia Road, Bhopal 462038, around six kilometres from Bhopal main station. Reach 30 minutes before the scheduled time so the verification formalities can be completed.

Bring the appropriate prescribed bio-data form from the notice with a self-attested photograph and one self-attested set of supporting papers. You must also carry the original documents for checking at the venue.
