ICAR-IARI Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI) is building a small project team at its Regional Station in Karnal for seed research and field support. The professional and labour roles serve the National Mission on High Yielding Seeds and the Seed Physiology, Storage and Testing work under the All India Coordinated Research Project on Seeds. This is a walk-in recruitment for time-bound project work rather than regular institute service.

Posts and Disciplines

• Young Professional-II: a science and engineering role focused on seed quality testing, research support, statistics and laboratory workflows.
• Young Professional-I: a graduate-level support role combining office tools with seed, planting-material, field and laboratory work.
• Skilled Labour: hands-on support for experiments, seed production, sample processing, plot care, data recording and basic equipment.
• Unskilled Labour: practical field and laboratory assistance, including samples, records, controlled pollination and related farm research work.

Post-wise Duties

Young Professional-II

You will support seed-quality testing and treatment research, work with laboratory data and use office and statistical tools for project records. The role suits someone comfortable moving between scientific analysis and routine coordination.

Young Professional-I

You will help with seed and planting-material activities in the field and laboratory while keeping digital records through common office software. Your work may shift with the seasonal needs of the research programme.

Skilled Labour

You will maintain experimental plots, help with seed production and sample processing, record observations and operate basic agricultural or laboratory equipment.

Unskilled Labour

You will assist with field operations, sample handling and controlled pollination. The team may also need help with data entry, record keeping and other practical research tasks.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: the engagement runs with the project up to 31 March 2027 and may continue only if the project, funds and satisfactory performance continue.
• Status: these are purely temporary, contractual posts and do not create a claim to regular appointment or absorption in ICAR-IARI.
• Review: the Principal Investigator will assess work progress every six months.
• Official travel: Young Professionals may receive TA and DA for approved domestic tours under the applicable ICAR rules.
• Work standards: selected staff must follow laboratory safety, biosafety and data-security rules and keep project data and test results confidential.
• Selection discretion: the institute may fill, postpone or cancel positions, and no separate call letter will be issued.

Application Submission Notes

Report to ICAR-IARI Regional Station, Karnal with the prescribed form and supporting records. Young Professional applicants should report at 10:00 AM, while Skilled and Unskilled Labour applicants should report at 2:00 PM; the interviews begin after registration. If you already work elsewhere, carry a No Objection Certificate and experience certificate from your employer.
