PFI Senior Associate and Analyst Recruitment 2026: Overview

Power Foundation of India (PFI) is a think-tank and policy advocacy body registered as a society under the aegis of the Ministry of Power, and promoted by the leading power-sector CPSUs. It is hiring for its Regulatory and Research Division and its Data Analytics team at its office in New Delhi. Unlike many PFI openings that are short-term contracts, all four posts in this notice are regular, full-time appointments.

The drive suits engineers who have moved into power-sector policy, tariff and regulatory work, plus one technology profile for someone who builds dashboards, data pipelines and AI tools for the energy sector. Posts and Disciplines

• Senior Associate (Regulatory): the senior research role in the Regulatory and Research Division, for people with close to a decade of tariff and regulatory experience. Reports to the Head – Regulatory and Research.
• Senior Analyst (Research): a mid-level research post in the same division, suited to a few years of power-sector policy or market analysis.
• Analyst (Research): the entry point into the division, open to engineers with an MBA or M.Tech and around two years of relevant experience.
• Senior Associate (Technology, Digital and AI): a computer-science profile that reports to the Head – DA and runs PFI's energy dashboard and digital projects. Power-sector experience is mandatory for this post.

Post-wise Duties

Senior Associate (Regulatory), Senior Analyst (Research) and Analyst (Research)

You will research live power-sector issues such as power markets, retail competition, parallel licensing and contracts for difference. You will track orders and regulations from MoP, CERC, CEA and the SERCs, study tariff petitions of GENCOs, TRANSCOs and DISCOMs, and follow judgments of the Supreme Court, High Courts and APTEL. Your output is policy notes, research papers, briefing notes and presentations, plus support for stakeholder workshops and PFI's comments on draft policies.

Senior Associate (Technology, Digital and AI)

You will run day-to-day operations of PFI's energy dashboard and plan its move to open-source technology. The work also covers digital and AI pilots and proofs of concept, power-system modelling for resource adequacy and demand forecasting, mapping data flows from field level to national dashboards, and preparing monthly power-sector snapshots and data-based news items.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of appointment: Regular and full-time, subject to satisfactory verification of your credentials and PFI's service rules.
• Pay fixation: PFI protects your current CTC and may add an increase on top, depending on your qualifications, experience and suitability. Benefits include PF, gratuity and medical or insurance cover as per PFI rules.
• Different age cut-offs: The two Senior Associate posts and the two Analyst-level posts have different upper age limits, so check the limit for the post you choose.
• Technology post relaxation: For the Technology, Digital and AI post only, the competent authority may relax the age limit for exceptional candidates.
• Posting: All posts are based at PFI's office in Qutab Institutional Area, New Delhi.
