ICAR-DKMA Young Professional-II Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is engaging Young Professional-II staff for the Directorate of Knowledge Management in Agriculture (DKMA) at Krishi Anusandhan Bhawan-I, Pusa, New Delhi. The work supports ICAR's scientific journals, magazines, books, reports and digital publications through separate editorial and production roles. This is a full-time, time-bound engagement, so it suits candidates who want hands-on experience in agricultural communication and professional publishing rather than a regular cadre appointment.

The English Editorial Unit checks the language, structure and scientific presentation of material received from ICAR researchers. The Production Unit takes approved manuscripts through layout, design, pre-press and final print or digital release. Posts and Disciplines

• Young Professional-II (Editorial Work): supports the English Editorial Unit with agricultural and scientific material, including journals, magazines, handbooks, annual reports and special publications. The role fits candidates with a science-and-writing background and proven editing or proofreading experience.
• Young Professional-II (Publication Production): supports the Production Unit from the final manuscript stage to the finished publication. The role combines layout, typesetting, graphic design, image work, proofreading, pre-press checks and coordination with printers.

Post-wise Duties

Young Professional-II (Editorial Work)

You will edit and proofread scientific and technical manuscripts, improve clarity without changing the research meaning, and check that material follows ICAR's editorial standards. You will also coordinate corrections with authors and help keep publication schedules moving.

Young Professional-II (Publication Production)

You will prepare print and digital layouts, process images and graphics, run pre-press quality checks, and follow each publication through printing or electronic release. You will work with editors, designers and printers so books, journals and outreach material are delivered in the required format.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: the first engagement is for one year and may be extended one year at a time, subject to need and satisfactory performance, up to the maximum period allowed in the notice.
• Status: the engagement is contractual, time-bound and outside ICAR's regular cadre. It does not create a right to absorption or another contract after the term ends.
• Working arrangement: you will work under the concerned unit in-charge and the administrative control of the Project Director, DKMA. Regular office timings apply, with extra hours or holiday work possible when publication deadlines demand it.
• Confidentiality and ownership: Council data must be handled under the Official Secrets Act, and ICAR retains rights over work produced during the engagement.
• Outside work: this is a full-time assignment, so you cannot hold another appointment or outside work during the contract.
• Joining conditions: appointment depends on medical fitness, and candidates already working elsewhere must provide a No Objection Certificate.
• Termination: either side may end the engagement with written notice or payment in place of notice; serious misconduct or a confidentiality breach can lead to immediate termination.
