FDDI Senior Lab Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview
Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is hiring a Senior Lab Assistant for its School of Fashion Design at Fursatganj, Uttar Pradesh. The ad-hoc engagement addresses urgent academic laboratory needs in pattern making and garment construction. You would join the campus academic support team under a short engagement that the institute reviews before any fresh appointment.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Initial engagement: Your appointment can run for up to six months. Further engagement can be offered in blocks of up to six months, through a fresh appointment and only for the period management approves.
- Working week: The usual schedule covers five days, but operational needs may bring weekend or holiday attendance. You can claim compensatory time off under the institute’s rules for that additional attendance.
- Casual leave: You receive two days each month. Unused casual leave can carry forward within the current six-month engagement, but it expires when that period ends; earned leave and leave encashment are unavailable.
- Attendance and conduct: FDDI’s attendance rules apply. Your work also involves supporting class discipline and taking part in departmental reviews and discipline meetings.
- Performance review: Management considers student feedback, classroom observation and how you meet the role’s duties. These reviews remain on record when the institute considers re-engagement.
- Temporary accommodation: The institute may offer house or hostel accommodation at its discretion against payment. If provided, you must leave it within fifteen days after the ad-hoc engagement ends.
- Incomplete applications: The institute does not accept incomplete forms or applications outside its prescribed format. Check the campus instructions carefully before choosing a submission route.
