The Department of Germanic & Romance Studies, University of Delhi, has invited applications for 9 Guest Faculty positions to teach undergraduate and postgraduate classes for the 2026-27 academic session. The vacancies are spread across four languages — French, German, Spanish, and Italian — with seats reserved for UR, SC, ST, OBC, and EWS candidates. NET is exempted for the Italian language posts, making it easier for qualified Italian language teachers to apply. Both fresh postgraduates and experienced teachers with prior teaching experience can apply.

Guest Faculty positions are engaged purely on a temporary, session-wise basis and every appointment is subject to final approval from the University. Who Can Apply?

For French, German, and Spanish:

• Qualification: Master's degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD) in the concerned or an allied subject.
• NET: You must have qualified UGC-NET in the relevant subject.

For Italian:

• Qualification: Master's degree with 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) in the concerned or an allied subject.
• NET: Not required for Italian language posts.

If you belong to the OBC-NCL or EWS category, your category certificate must be issued in the current financial year, after 31 March 2026, to be considered valid.

Salary

• Selected Guest Faculty will get an honorarium as per UGC norms for the classes you teach.
• No fixed monthly salary is mentioned in the notification — payment depends on the number of teaching hours as per UGC guest faculty norms.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection for these Guest Faculty posts is based only on an interview — there is no written test:

1. Screening of Applications: The department checks your qualifications, NET status, and submitted documents against the eligibility criteria for the language you applied for.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are interviewed by the department. The date and time of the interview will be shared with you by email, so keep checking your inbox after applying.

How to Apply

1. Prepare a signed CV mentioning your teaching experience, if any.
2. Fill in the application form for the specific language you are applying for, giving your name, date of birth, local and permanent address, mobile number, and email ID.
3. Complete the table of examinations passed — Senior Secondary, Graduation, Post-Graduation, M.Phil/PhD, and any other qualification — along with the board/university name, marks obtained, and percentage.
4. Mention whether you have qualified NET and whether you belong to a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PH).
5. Attach self-attested photocopies of your MA degree and mark-sheet, NET certificate, PhD degree (if any), and category proof (for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD).
6. Sign the declaration confirming that the information given is correct to the best of your knowledge.
7. Submit the hard copy application with all documents to the Department of Germanic & Romance Studies, University of Delhi, Delhi – 110007 by 3:00 PM on 27 July 2026 (except Saturday, Sunday, and gazetted holidays).
