Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI) is hiring Consultants across procurement, logistics, quality and pharmaceutical advisory work. PMBI implements the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers. These contract roles in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) support the scheme's work to make quality generic medicines affordable.

Post-wise Duties

Consultant Procurement Process

You will advise on procurement planning and tender documents, maintain procurement records and help resolve bidder complaints, contract issues and audit observations. The role follows government procurement rules and aims to improve value for money and timely purchasing.

Consultant Procurement Logistics and Supply Chain

You will review stock levels, warehousing and transport performance, identify delivery risks and advise on ways to prevent shortages, expiry and waste. This includes monitoring storage conditions and following first-expiry-first-out practices so medicines move through the network appropriately.

Consultant Quality

You will strengthen the Quality Management System, review testing reports and support investigations into complaints, defects and recalls. The work also covers audits, corrective actions and quality requirements during storage and distribution.

Consultant Pharma Specialist

You will provide clinical advice on medicine safety and appropriate use, assess product information and support the reporting of adverse drug reactions. You will also review scientific literature and work with procurement, quality and logistics teams on medical questions.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: The initial appointment is for one year, with possible annual extensions up to a total of three years based on satisfactory performance. It does not create a claim to permanent employment.
• Observation period: The first three months are an observation period, which may be extended. During it, PMBI may end the contract with seven days' notice.
• First-year exit condition: If you resign, leave the work or violate appointment terms during the first year, the notice requires liquidated damages amounting to three months' consolidated pay. This includes time spent in the observation period.
• Termination: The contract ends at the close of its term without notice pay or retrenchment compensation. The general termination provision allows 30 days' notice or pay in its place.
• Posting: Although the advertised workplace is Delhi/NCR, PMBI can transfer or post you anywhere in India. Selected applicants should be ready to join promptly.
• Other work: This is a whole-time engagement. You cannot take another assignment, including unpaid or part-time work, during the contract.
• Confidentiality: Work products and related intellectual property belong to PMBI. Information received or compiled during the engagement must remain confidential and be handed over only as authorized.
• Recruitment conditions: PMBI may change the number of posts or cancel the process. You must bear your travel costs for the written exam and interview.
