DFCCIL has released Vacancy Notice No. 27/2026 for filling 1 post of Assistant General Manager (IT) at its Corporate Office in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on a deputation basis for an initial period of 3 years, extendable up to 5 years. This is a senior IT leadership role — the selected officer will head cyber security, SAP systems, network infrastructure and emerging technology adoption for DFCCIL. Only Central/State Government or PSU officers already working in an equivalent grade can apply, and DFCCIL will circulate this notice to all Zonal Railways, Production Units, CPSUs and autonomous bodies under the Central Government. DFCCIL builds and operates dedicated freight corridors for the Indian Railways network, and its IT wing plays a critical role in signalling, operations technology and digital governance across the organization. This makes the AGM (IT) post a high-responsibility, high-visibility assignment for any officer looking to lead technology strategy at a major railway PSU.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or M.C.A. (Master of Computer Applications), from a recognized university or institution.
• Experience: You need at least 15 years of post-qualification executive experience in the IT/Telecom/Electronics/Computer/IS field in a Central/State Government or PSU organization.
• Grade: You should be working in an analogous grade (Level-13A), or in Selection Grade (Level-13) with a minimum of 12 years in Group A in the relevant discipline, or in the IDA scale of Rs. 90,000-2,40,000 (E6) with 4 years' service in that grade.
• Basis: This is a deputation post — you must apply through proper channel, along with an NOC from your parent department.
• Tenure: The deputation is for 3 years, extendable up to 5 years, subject to exemption by the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) from the rule of immediate absorption.

Age Limit

• You should not be more than 55 years old. The cut-off date for age and eligibility is the closing date of this vacancy notice.

Salary

• You will draw your parent pay (Level 13/13A, approximately Rs. 1,23,100 to Rs. 2,15,900 per month) plus a deputation allowance as applicable.
• You will also get all other perks and allowances that apply under DFCCIL policy.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

DFCCIL will fill this post by screening nominated officers, not through a written exam:

1. Application Through Proper Channel: You send your application in the prescribed proforma through your parent department, along with an NOC, attested APAR ratings for the last 5 years, and vigilance/D&AR clearance.
2. Screening: DFCCIL checks your grade, qualification and experience against the eligibility criteria.
3. Selection: The eligible, shortlisted officer is selected for the deputation post. Any officer found to have hidden or misrepresented material facts will be repatriated immediately, and no further communication from the parent organization or the officer will be entertained after that.

• Lead implementation, customization and maintenance of SAP and other key IT systems
• Manage the Cyber Security framework, risk assessment and compliance across all IT assets
• Direct Network (LAN/WAN) architecture and Hosting (Cloud and on-premise Data Centre) operations
• Drive adoption of emerging technologies like AI/ML for predictive maintenance and data-driven decisions
• Oversee the IT procurement lifecycle, including high-value purchases and GeM portal contracts
