CSB Young Professional Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Central Silk Board (CSB), a statutory body under the Ministry of Textiles, wants two Young Professionals with a law background for its Central Office in BTM Layout, Bengaluru. Both posts sit on the legal side of the Board's work — handling legal files and drafting in English and Hindi. Grade-2 is open to fresh law graduates, while Grade-3 is meant for lawyers who have already practised or done legal work for a government department, PSU or company. The engagement is on contract for an initial two years, so treat it as a strong first step in government legal work rather than a permanent post.

Posts and Disciplines

• Young Professional Grade-2: the entry-level legal post. No post-qualification experience is asked for; a Diploma in Labour Law, experience handling litigation and strong drafting skills will help your application.
• Young Professional Grade-3: the senior legal post for practising lawyers or legal staff. CSB prefers a Diploma in Labour Law and working knowledge of government procedures, Service Rules, FRSR, CCS Rules, and CAT, High Court and Supreme Court procedures, plus experience in drafting and vetting legal documents.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Not a staff post: A Young Professional is not a staff member or official of CSB, and the contract creates no employer-employee relationship. It gives no claim to later employment with CSB or any other government department.
• Tenure: The first term is two years, extendable on the basis of a performance review by the officer in charge.
• Pay rises: Pay is reviewed every year, with a performance-linked increase; the total can never go beyond 1.35 times the starting pay. No other facility is provided.
• Travel: You may be sent anywhere in India; on tour, Grade-2 gets TA/DA as a Level-6 employee and Grade-3 as a Level-8 employee.
• Training: You must finish the Dakshta for Young Professionals course on iGOT within two months of joining, plus any role-specific modules.
• Hours and leave: Office hours are 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, with possible late sittings and weekend work without extra pay. Paid leave builds up at 1.5 days per completed month and cannot be carried past the calendar year; attendance is biometric.
• Before joining: You submit a police verification report and a medical fitness certificate, and you arrange your own life and health insurance.
• Exit: Either side can end the contract with 30 days' notice or pay in lieu.
• Waiting list: The selection committee keeps a waiting list valid for one year.
