Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) Field cum Hatchery Staff Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Vizhinjam Regional Centre of ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Thiruvananthapuram, has released a notice for 1 Field cum Hatchery Staff post under the All India Network Project (AINP) on Marine Ornamental Fish Breeding and Culture. CMFRI is one of India's leading fisheries research institutes under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), and its Vizhinjam centre specialises in marine ornamental fish breeding and culture technology. This is a purely temporary, contract-based position that lasts until the project ends or as decided by the competent authority — you cannot claim a regular appointment at CMFRI on the basis of this role. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in biological sciences and prior experience in a fish hatchery or ornamental fish farm are especially encouraged to apply. The total number of vacancies may change depending on other project requirements.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 and 45 years old as on the date of the interview (16 September 2026), with age relaxation as per applicable government rules for reserved categories.

Salary

• The selected candidate will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 20,000 per month.
• No separate allowances are mentioned in the notification — the pay is a fixed consolidated amount.

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview)

Selection will be through a walk-in interview:

1. Screening of Bio-data: If a large number of applications are received, candidates will be screened and shortlisted based on qualifications and experience.
2. Shortlisting Intimation: Only shortlisted candidates will be informed by email and should appear for the interview.
3. Walk-in Interview: Held at Vizhinjam Regional Centre, ICAR-CMFRI, on 16 September 2026 at 10:00 AM.
4. Document Verification: You must produce original certificates from matriculation onwards, plus a valid ID proof, at the time of the interview.

A few conditions apply here: concealing facts or canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification, and if you have a close relative already working at ICAR-CMFRI, you must declare this in writing using the prescribed annexure. If your marks are shown as CGPA/OGPA, carry an approved conversion table/formula to the interview, or your candidature will not be considered. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing at the interview, and the decision of the Director, ICAR-CMFRI, is final and binding in all respects.
