CG Agriculture PMFBY SPMU Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Directorate of Agriculture, Chhattisgarh is setting up a State Project Management Unit (SPMU) for the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), the crop insurance scheme that protects farmers when floods, drought or other natural calamities damage their crops. The new unit will give the state government hands-on help with IT support, data management, remote sensing, MIS, monitoring and training, so that crop data and claims move faster and more transparently.

This drive fills the four specialist roles that form the core SPMU team, all based at Indravati Bhawan, Nava Raipur. It is a temporary, project-linked engagement filled through a walk-in interview, so it suits experienced agriculture, remote sensing and IT professionals who want to work on a large state-level scheme rather than a regular government post.

Posts and Disciplines

• State Project Officer (State Head): the team leader of the SPMU. This role needs an agriculture graduate with a management degree and long experience running programmes or projects.
• Remote Sensing Specialist: a field-plus-satellite role for agriculture or geoinformatics graduates who have worked on crop acreage and yield estimation using RS and GIS.
• Data Analyst & MIS Specialist: the data and reporting person for the PMFBY portal, also responsible for training manuals and stakeholder training.
• IT & Technical Specialist: the technical backbone of the unit, looking after SPMU systems and fixing portal and app issues.

The two IT-side posts ask for the same degrees and experience, and both need good English plus the local language. If you fit both, you can apply for each with a separate form.

Post-wise Duties

State Project Officer (State Head)

You will lead the SPMU team and plan, run and monitor every PMFBY activity at the state level. You will draw up the yearly workplan with the Programme Management Units, track results against targets, review reports from partner institutions, hold review meetings and visit the field to fix problems early.

Remote Sensing Specialist

You will use remote sensing for crop yield estimation and crop loss assessment, inspect fields after natural calamities and report findings for affected Insurance Units. You will also help pick better Crop Cutting Experiment (CCE) locations, bring mobile technology into CCE data collection, advise on crop insurance cycles across Chhattisgarh's agro-climatic zones and stay in touch with remote sensing agencies and agricultural universities.

Data Analyst & MIS Specialist

You will keep the PMFBY portal updated daily, seasonally and yearly, prepare summary reports, maintain master data sheets and scheme notifications, and send compiled data to the Government of India. You will also sort out data entry issues from banks, insurance companies and the CCE mobile app, and run training for state officials, bank staff and insurance company staff.

IT & Technical Specialist

You will manage the IT infrastructure of the SPMU, act as the technical go-to person for the portal, and answer technical questions from every stakeholder. The role also covers IT-focused user manuals, IT training, district and block visits for technical support, and technical arrangements for baseline surveys and field data collection.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Temporary engagement: the posts last only as long as the SPMU needs them and give no right to regularisation, permanency or continuation.
• Immediate joining: once the engagement order is issued, you must take charge straight away.
• Termination: the engagement can end at any time without notice or reason, and you cannot claim continuation or go to court against it.
• Not government service: there is no employer-employee relationship with the Government of Chhattisgarh, so no pension, gratuity or other benefits of regular staff.
• All-inclusive pay: the fixed monthly amount is the full payment; no separate allowances are added.
• Regular courses only: your degrees must be from full-time regular courses of UGC, CSIR, ICAR or AICTE recognised institutions, and you must hold the qualification and experience as on 1 January 2026.
• Provisional selection: selection stays provisional until your original documents are verified; false or hidden information ends the engagement at any stage.
• Post numbers can change: the Directorate may add, cut or withdraw positions, or cancel the advertisement, without giving reasons.
• No travel claim: no TA or DA is paid for attending the walk-in interview.
• Jurisdiction: any dispute goes only to the courts at Raipur.

Application Submission Notes

There is no online form. Fill in the Annexure-I application format attached to the notice, paste a recent passport-size photo on it, and bring it in person with self-attested certificate copies and your originals to Directorate of Agriculture, Chhattisgarh, Indravati Bhawan, 2nd Floor, Block-2, Nava Raipur, Atal Nagar, Raipur – 492002.

• Reporting cut-off: arrive before 12:00 noon on the walk-in day; nobody is let in after that.
• One form per post: applying for two roles means bringing two separate filled forms.
• Format matters: an incomplete or incorrect form, or one not in the Annexure-I format, is rejected on the spot and you will not be interviewed.
