Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released notification for 300 Assistant Prosecution Officer posts. Candidates with LLB degree can apply online. Last date to apply is 20 March 2026. Age limit is 21 to 37 years. Salary is Rs. 53,100 to Rs. 1,67,800 per month. Selection is through Prelims, Mains exam and interview.

Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is hiring 300 Assistant Prosecution Officers for the Home Department (Directorate of Prosecution), Government of Bihar. This is a great opportunity for law graduates who want a career in government prosecution services.

Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Exam (Qualifying only)
  2. Main Exam (Descriptive - 1,050 marks)
  3. Interview (100 marks)

Final Merit = Mains (1,050) + Interview (100) = 1,150 marks

  • Handle prosecution cases on behalf of the State Government in courts
  • Prepare and present legal arguments in criminal cases
  • Study case files, evidence and witness statements before hearings
  • Assist Senior Prosecution Officers in important and complex cases
  • Represent the State in Magistrate courts and Sessions courts
  • Keep proper records of all cases and their progress
  • Follow the directions of the Directorate of Prosecution
  • Work with police and investigation agencies for case preparation
