APPSC Finance and Law Recruitment 2026: Overview

Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) is running a common examination for finance, treasury and prosecution posts in the state government's Finance and Home departments. The notice combines Group A and Group B gazetted services in one recruitment, so you can choose a role aligned with commerce, economics, mathematics, statistics or law. Finance graduates and final-semester students have a route into the treasury posts, while the prosecution posts are designed for experienced criminal-law professionals.

This recruitment is limited by the notice's Arunachal Pradesh residence, tribal-status and indigenous-language conditions. The examination is managed centrally by APPSC, but appointments belong to the relevant state department. Your admission remains provisional until the commission and appointing authority check every eligibility claim and original document.

Posts and Disciplines

• Finance and Accounts Officer or Treasury Officer: a Group A role in the Finance Department for candidates with a commerce, business, economics, mathematics or statistics background.
• Sub-Treasury Officer: a Group B Finance Department role focused on treasury administration and public accounts.
• Assistant Director (Prosecution): a Group A Home Department role for an experienced criminal-court advocate or a serving First Class Magistrate.
• Assistant Public Prosecutor: a Group B Home Department role for law graduates with substantial criminal-law practice.

Post-wise Duties

Finance and Accounts Officer or Treasury Officer

You will supervise government accounts, treasury controls and financial reporting, check compliance with state financial rules, and guide staff handling receipts and payments.

Sub-Treasury Officer

You will manage day-to-day sub-treasury transactions and records, check payment and receipt documentation, and support timely reconciliation with the Finance Department.

Assistant Director (Prosecution)

You will guide prosecution work for the Home Department, review criminal cases, support government prosecutors and help maintain consistent legal standards across assigned matters.

Assistant Public Prosecutor

You will conduct criminal cases on behalf of the state, prepare briefs, examine evidence and present clear legal arguments before the appropriate courts.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Residence: You must be an inhabitant of Arunachal Pradesh with a valid Permanent Resident Certificate issued by the competent state authority.
• Indigenous status: The notice requires original-inhabitant status and a valid Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe certificate.
• Language: You must be able to speak an Indigenous Tribal Language of Arunachal Pradesh and have working knowledge of local indigenous tribes; the language-test mechanism follows the cited state notification.
• Final-semester route: Candidates awaiting their qualifying result can apply only for the two finance and treasury streams, but must produce proof of passing before the interview.
• Prosecution experience: Law applicants must upload the specified criminal-practice certificate or First Class Magistrate appointment order with the online form; missing proof can end the candidature.
• Screening: APPSC may add an objective recruitment test when application numbers are high. Its marks screen candidates and do not count toward the final merit order.
• Appointment checks: The appointing department conducts the medical check and verifies character, antecedents and certificates before appointment.

One Time Registration (OTR) is compulsory before the online form can be filled. If you already have an OTR account, use the same user ID and password. If more than one form is submitted, APPSC considers only the application carrying the highest Registration ID, and a fee paid against another ID is not adjusted.
