Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (SMP Kolkata) is recruiting Trainee Pilots for the Marine Departments of Kolkata Dock System and Haldia Dock Complex. This is direct recruitment with a training route towards a regular Pilot post, rather than an immediate appointment as a qualified Pilot. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Training examinations: You can make a maximum of three attempts at each required examination. If you do not pass within those attempts, the port can end your service. Keep this condition in mind when considering the route from trainee to regular Pilot.
• Service bond: Before joining, you must sign a bond committing to serve SMP Kolkata for at least five years after qualifying as a Pilot. Leaving before completing that commitment means paying an amount equal to your last six months of salary, together with the training cost decided by the appointing authority. The commitment runs from qualification as a Pilot.
