The engagement supports the commission’s work to develop the khadi and village industries sector, including institutional improvements and emerging programme needs. You would join on an individual consultancy contract, with assignments spread across the zone’s offices rather than confined to Bhopal.

Posts and Disciplines

• Audit: assignments at the Zonal Office in Bhopal and MDTC Panjokhera, Meerut.
• HR and Administration: an assignment at the Divisional Office in Gorakhpur.
• Khadi: a discipline-specific assignment at the Divisional Office in Varanasi.
• Legal: assignments at the State Offices in Bhopal, Lucknow and Raipur, and the Divisional Office in Meerut.
• Marketing: an assignment at the KGB office in Bhopal.
• Accounts: an assignment at the State Office in Dehradun.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial engagement: your contract starts with a one-year term. KVIC may extend it for a further two years after reviewing performance and its continuing need for the work; continuation needs a fresh contract.
• Consultancy status: this arrangement does not make you a regular KVIC employee. It gives you no right to absorption, regularisation or a later permanent appointment.
• Working arrangements: you follow the working hours used by regular KVIC employees. The notice also allows work beyond those hours or on holidays under the contract.
• Leave: you can take eight days during each year of consultancy. Unused leave does not carry into the next term, and intervening weekends or government holidays do not count against that entitlement.
• Confidentiality: information you learn during the assignment must stay with authorised people. Publishing a book or collection of articles using that information needs KVIC’s prior approval.
• Insurance: you arrange and pay for appropriate insurance for the period of your assignment. The contract places responsibility for adequate cover on the professional.
• Conduct: you must follow KVIC and Government of India rules and avoid conflicts of interest. Unsatisfactory service or a conflict with the commission’s interests can end the engagement.
• Ending the contract: the termination clause refers to one month’s notice by either side, but also uses conflicting wording about prior notice. Read that clause carefully alongside your individual contract.
• Joining from government service: serving government or public-sector staff must be properly relieved by their current organisation before joining.
• Changes to the drive: the advertised positions are tentative. KVIC may change interview arrangements or advertised conditions, or cancel the process; later amendments will appear on its official website.
