JNCASR Medical Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is engaging Medical Officers on contract for its campus healthcare facilities in Bengaluru. The centre is an autonomous research institution and deemed university under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. You would work at Dhanvantari on the Jakkur Main Campus and allied facilities at the Sahyadri, Chamundi and Arkavathi campuses, under the Chief Medical Officer.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: the initial engagement lasts one year from joining, subject to the service-age ceiling stated in the notice. Continuation depends on a performance review and the centre’s functional needs; it is not automatic.
• Leaving or ending the assignment: either side can end the contract with 30 days’ notice. JNCASR can also end it by paying the equivalent of one month’s pay instead of notice, including where performance is unsatisfactory.
• Regular appointment: you cannot claim a regular post through this engagement. The contract also carries no seniority or promotion rights available to regular government staff.
• Workplace support: JNCASR provides basic infrastructure needed for the assignment. It does not provide a transport facility or telephone and internet facilities at your residence.
• Leave: you earn 1.5 days of paid leave for each completed month. You cannot carry leave beyond the calendar year, and leave longer than three days at a stretch is ordinarily allowed only for emergencies.
• Work arrangements: campus attendance must be recorded online. The engagement includes the centre’s general shifts, night on-call duty and weekend coverage, so you need to be comfortable with that pattern.
• Appointment undertaking: when you join, you must take an oath of allegiance to the Constitution of India or make the prescribed solemn affirmation.
• Responsibility during the assignment: the notice says the centre will not be responsible for loss, accidents, damage or injury connected with assigned work, including related travel.
• Centre’s discretion: JNCASR may accept or reject any or all applications. The engagement and any continuation follow the stated contract terms and later amendments.

The centre must receive it within the stated deadline; posting it before the deadline alone does not satisfy the receipt requirement. Applications received late or without the required supporting material will not be considered.
