SAI Dean Recruitment 2026: Overview

Sports Authority of India (SAI), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, is engaging retired professionals as Dean on contract. The engagement sits within SAI’s sports-science context and its wider work to prepare athletes for international competition. You may be placed at SAI scheme centres across India, rather than at a campus named in advance.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract tenure: The initial engagement is for one year, subject to the retirement-age ceiling stated in the notice. Continuation depends on SAI’s needs and its review of your performance.
• No automatic continuation: You cannot claim regular government employment through this contract. Even if the Dean post continues to exist after your contract ends, that does not give you a right to remain in it.
• Fresh recruitment: SAI may decide to run another recruitment after a contract ends. Existing and former SAI staff may take part in that fresh process, but the current engagement does not promise another term.
• Attendance and other assignments: You must attend the office regularly and cannot take on another assignment during the contract. Office discipline and the applicable conduct rules remain part of the engagement.
• Leave: You receive 1.5 days of leave per month on a proportionate basis. Absence beyond 18 days in a year is unpaid, and unused leave lapses at the end of the calendar year.
• Ending the engagement: SAI may end the contract for unsatisfactory performance with 15 days’ notice. If you wish to leave, you must give 30 days’ notice or pay one month’s salary in its place, subject to approval.
• Misconduct: Breaching the employment conditions, neglecting duties or remaining absent without approval can lead to immediate termination. You are expected to follow the Central Civil Services conduct rules.
• Confidential information: Protect information you receive through this work, including athlete data, reports and internal records. You must not disclose it to anyone who is not authorised to receive it.
• Publications and outside communication: Books, articles and broadcasts need prior approval from the competent authority. The notice also restricts advice or representation that goes against SAI’s or the government’s interests.
• Panel and organisational discretion: SAI may create a panel valid for one year for use in its work or government-funded schemes and projects. It may also cancel the panel or change the recruitment process.
• Travel and disputes: You must bear your own interview travel expenses. Employment disputes fall under Delhi courts, and the English version of the notice governs if the language versions differ.
• Updates: Check SAI’s website for further notices and your registered email for communication. The email entered in your application must remain active and cannot be changed after entry.
