Khunti Fasal Rakshak Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Office of the Sub-Divisional-cum-District Agriculture Officer, Khunti, under Jharkhand's Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Co-operative Department, is selecting Fasal Rakshak (Crop Guards) for the plant protection centres of Khunti district. The posts come under the state-plan Crop Protection Programme, which aims to run pest control and plant protection work at the local level.

This is an honorarium-based engagement, not a regular government job. Only local residents of Khunti district can apply, and selection is on a 100-mark merit score built from your school marks and agriculture training — there is no written exam unless the committee decides one is needed.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement lasts 11 months or until regular appointments are made, whichever comes first.
• No regular status: You get no automatic right to future regular appointment, confirmation or the service benefits of a regular government employee.
• Places of posting: Plant Protection Centres at Khunti, Karra, Torpa, Rania, Murhu and Arki. Your home block on the resident certificate gets priority, along with the preferences you fill in the form, but the final allotment is the competent authority's call.
• Local residence: A valid Khunti district local resident certificate is mandatory.
• Local language: Knowledge of the local language is a qualifying condition with no merit marks. A language test may be held if enough candidates cannot show proof.
• Cycling and tree climbing: You must be able to ride a bicycle and climb trees. A practical check may be held after the provisional merit list, and failing it can make you ineligible.
• Training certificates: Only training from the Directorate of Agriculture and Horticulture, Birsa Agricultural University or Krishi Vigyan Kendras counts. Training shorter than five days is ignored.
• No extra marks: Postgraduate degrees and multiple degrees at the same level earn no additional marks.
• Joining: If you do not join within the set period, your selection lapses and the post goes to the waiting list. A character certificate is needed at joining or document verification.
• Early end: The engagement can end if regular appointments are made, the sanctioned post is abolished, or false information is found.
