LIFE Mission Engineer and Architect Recruitment 2026: Overview

LIFE Mission (Livelihood, Inclusion and Financial Empowerment), Government of Kerala is hiring Civil Engineers, an Architect and an Electrical Engineer on a contract basis. LIFE Mission is the state's flagship housing and welfare programme, started on 10 November 2016 to give every homeless family in Kerala a safe and dignified home. The Centre for Management Development (CMD), Thiruvananthapuram is running this recruitment for the Mission, so the whole process happens through CMD's online system.

If you hold a degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or Electrical Engineering, this is a chance to work on a large public housing programme. Three years of relevant experience is listed as desirable, not compulsory, so recent graduates can also apply.

Posts and Disciplines

• Civil Engineer: the largest group in this notice, open to Civil Engineering graduates. Housing construction is the core of LIFE Mission's work, so site and building experience counts in your favour.
• Architect: a single post for Architecture graduates from a recognised university.
• Electrical Engineer: a single post for Electrical Engineering graduates.

All three posts carry the same consolidated monthly pay and the same upper age limit, so pick the post that matches your degree.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Engagement: These are contract positions, not regular government posts.
• Citizenship: Only Indian citizens can apply.
• Proof of qualification: Upload the original or provisional degree certificate. Mark sheets, consolidated mark sheets or statements in place of the certificate lead to rejection.
• No self-declarations: Affidavits, undertakings and self-certified statements are not accepted as proof of qualification or experience.
• Equivalent degrees: If your degree is an equivalent qualification, you must upload an equivalency certificate from the competent authority, or your form will not be considered.
• Accuracy: Incomplete or incorrect forms are rejected outright, and CMD will not accept corrections later. A mismatch found at any stage, even after the final round, cancels your candidature.
• Selection method: CMD decides the selection steps based on the number of applicants. Only shortlisted candidates are contacted by email, SMS or phone.
• Changes: CMD and LIFE Mission can change the number of posts, modify or cancel the notification, or stop the recruitment at any time.

Applications are accepted online only through the CMD recruitment portal. The form opens at 10:00 am on the start date and closes at 5:00 pm on the last date. Keep a personal email ID and mobile number active until the process ends, because call letters for any test or interview are sent by email. Do not enter the phone number or email of an Akshaya centre or any other institution.
