IISER Bhopal JRF Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal (IISER Bhopal) is looking for a Project Junior Research Fellow in its Department of Chemistry. The fellowship is part of a research project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India, and run by Prof. Manmohan Kapur.

The project is titled "Enantioselective remote functionalization: a unified platform for collective total synthesis of various alkaloid and terpenoid natural products and bis-spirofluorenes for chiroptical properties and applications as OLED materials". In simple terms, it is synthetic organic chemistry work: building complex natural products and testing new molecules as materials for OLED displays.

That is why the notice makes an Organic Chemistry specialisation compulsory at the M.Sc. level. If you already have some research experience, the department will give you preference.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply.
• Tenure: The fellowship runs for 12 months first and can be extended after a review of your performance.
• Online interview: Shortlisted candidates are interviewed online, and no TA/DA is paid for it.
• Certificates: You do not send certificate copies with the application. Photocopies of your certificates and mark sheets are collected at the time of joining, if you are selected.
• Joining: The selected candidate must join as early as possible.

The CV format asks for your marks or CGPA from Class 12 onwards, your GATE, CSIR or UGC fellowship details, your work experience and the contact details of your referees, so keep these ready before you write the email.
