Ordnance Factory Tiruchirappalli (OFT), a unit of Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL), is recruiting a Junior Translation Officer and a Hindi Typist for its Rajbhasha section in Tamil Nadu. These fixed-term contract roles support official-language work and office administration.

Posts and Disciplines

• Junior Translation Officer (JTO): Handles translation, Hindi drafting and coordination connected with official-language policy.
• Hindi Typist: Supports Hindi document preparation, reporting and computer-based publication work in the same section.

Post-wise Duties

Junior Translation Officer

You will translate official letters, documents and records between English and Hindi. The role also includes Hindi notes and publications, official-language reports, and coordination with the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC).

Hindi Typist

You will prepare Hindi documents on a computer and help with reports on official-language implementation. You will also use office software and support magazine preparation and design.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract: The engagement begins with a one-year term and ends automatically when that term finishes. It gives you no claim to regular employee status.
• Project link: The annexure also links employment to the project and its permitted term. Read the final agreement carefully to understand when your engagement ends.
• Ending the engagement: Either side can give one month's notice, or the basic-pay and dearness-allowance components specified in the contract instead.
• Working hours: Work follows the production schedule, normally eight hours a day and six days a week. Company holidays follow those available to regular employees.
• Leave: Paid leave is proportionate to service, up to twelve days a year. Unused leave cannot be carried forward or exchanged for cash.
• Performance: OFT reviews your work every half year. A poor rating brings a written three-month improvement period; continued poor performance can lead to termination with fifteen days' notice.
• Accommodation: Company quarters depend on availability. You must vacate them when the contract ends or is terminated.
• Workplace rules: Company rules govern conduct and assigned work. Unauthorised absence leads to proportionate pay deductions.
