NIT Agartala Office Intern Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Institute of Technology Agartala (NIT Agartala), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, is taking on Office Interns for its campus at Jirania, near Agartala in West Tripura. This is an internship-style engagement on a fixed monthly pay, not a regular staff post, and it suits graduates who are comfortable with MS Word, Excel and Tally.

The institute is especially keen on people who have already worked in the establishment or administration section of an IIT, NIT, university or other government office — handling official letters, running day-to-day office work and sending data and reports to government authorities. That experience is desired, not compulsory, so fresh graduates with good computer skills can also apply.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The internship starts for one year and can be extended for up to two more terms if the institute needs you and your work is good. The total, including renewals, cannot go beyond three years.
• No permanent claim: The engagement can be ended at any time without a reason, and it gives you no right to continuation or confirmation at NIT Agartala.
• Leaving early: If you want to quit during the contract, give one month's notice or pay one month's amount instead.
• Number of posts: The count is tentative and may go up or down depending on the institute's needs.
• Travel: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview; TA/DA for official tours during the internship follows institute rules.
• Counting experience: Only experience gained after your graduation in a government, semi-government, PSU, autonomous, research or reputed organisation counts, and you must attach the employer's certificate.
• Relaxation: The competent authority may relax age, qualification or experience rules for a candidate found otherwise suitable.
• Disputes: Any legal case falls under the High Court of Tripura.
