KGMU Project Research Scientist Recruitment 2026: Overview

King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow is hiring project staff for an ICMR-funded lung cancer study at its Center for Advance Research. The project uses artificial intelligence to read the metabolic profile of organoids grown from circulating tumour cells, with the aim of predicting which organ a lung cancer is likely to spread to. It is led by Dr. Ashutosh Shrivastava, Additional Professor at the centre.

Both posts are temporary project jobs that follow ICMR norms, so they suit a life-science postgraduate or an experienced lab hand who wants hands-on work in cancer metabolomics and organoid biology.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical): the scientist-level post for a postgraduate in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Bio-Medical Sciences or Life Science, including integrated PG degrees. One to two years of work in molecular techniques and metabolomics gives you an edge.
• Project Technical Support-III: the technical post, open to a biological science graduate with three years of experience after the degree, or to a postgraduate in a relevant subject. A PG in biotechnology or a related life science is preferred.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of posts: Purely temporary, under the ICMR-funded project.
• Past ICMR service: Candidates who have already served more than five years in ICMR may not be considered, as per ICMR Order No. 16/29/2025-Admn-Part (2).
• Project rules: The age limit for both posts is set by ICMR rules, as the advertisement states for each post.
